i think the stereotype that everyone in UCSD is in UCSD because they didn’t make it to Cal or UCLA is almost 100% right
@catswin Mechanical Engineering! And seriously tho, I mean I know that the UCSD engineering school is really close in rank to UCLA’s I just like the culture at UCLA more

I have a 4.0 UW, 4.7 W (by my school system, idk my UC GPA whoops)
2260 SAT
790 Math 2 and 740 Physics
And yeah I’m waitlisted at UCLA for MechE

@catswin. That is not true. I know many who rejected Cal and UCLA for UCSD. The fact that you buy into such a stereotype is saddening and insulting to some people. And based on the fact that you didn’t get in for engineering at UCSD but got waitlisted to UCLA shows the caliber of the people who go to UCSD. Do not be shallow. Hopefully you do not go into UCSD (if you do) with this mindset, because when you try to transfer into engineering you will be in for a HUGE surprise.

@uclaparent9 aww thank you for the nice thoughts! They make me smile even when I’m super anxious! But I know that there is a reason for everything and that the students already admitted to UCLA deserve to be there just as much. I just hope that I’ll be admitted to, if just a bit later 
2nd speculation of release (based on some history I saw in this thread) is tomorrow! Here’s to hoping.
@mikuru I agree, tomorrow doesn’t sound unreasonable but if not it may be this saturday! In 2014 I think it was, they released waves on Wednesdays and Saturdays
For anyone waitlist in Letters & Science, that’s me, too! I did undeclared but honestly forgot which category, exactly haha. But I applied for college of Letters & Science and I’m praying that I get in, as UCLA is my number once choice!
I want the decisions to come soon but at the same time I don’t… I’m really anxious and almost don’t want to look at the results when they come in.
I think the worst thing is that a lot of people know how much I want to get into UCLA, so they will all be asking me after the beginning of May and if I don’t get in then it will be an awkward reminder every time someone asks me lol
Guys we are all going to do great wherever we go, even if it is not UCLA! Please keep in mind you all have wonderful options!
@missjantastic You and me both, sister! (I also applied for L&S!) Honestly, I thought one month couldn’t come any faster – now I’m just rife with anxiety!
@cahopeful2020 great advice! We definitely are not defined by the colleges that do or do not accept us! But of course it would be nice if one of the colleges that does accept us is UCLA

and yes that advice is true! I always tell myself that if my dream school doesn’t accept me, I’m gonna make it a point to do the very best I can at the school that does and become successful and be an awesome alumni for that school and subtly be like “yeepppp should’ve accepted me bruh” but that’s probably childish hehehe.
