i am an incoming freshman and will be commuting to school and i was wondering if going to school during the first week of school worth it since there will be no class or do we still have to go to class? i am not very sure.
Better attend!
There shouldn’t be class during zero week – it’s more of an opportunity to get settled and socialize. And the welcome week events aren’t necessary, but they can be really fun and helpful! Definitely check out this calendar to see if something interests you:

I’m pretty sure it’s recommended that freshmen go to the “This is Bruin Life” show, and the Enormous Activities Fair is great for connecting with different student groups! Also, there’s lots of free stuff at a bunch of these events, so you can definitely get in on that if you’d like
Also (not totally sure if this applies), but make sure you haven’t gotten any emails about events for your department. I know that my major has a mandatory orientation during zero week, but the theater department does stuff differently sometimes, so that might just be us haha.
In conclusion…zero week is great! If it’s not too inconvenient for you to drive over, definitely take advantage of this week of college fun minus the college class stress. Good luck in your freshman year!!
