UCLA

Hi, I was wondering what the chances of me getting accepted into UCLA would be?

ACT: 30 (retaking in a week)
UW GPA: 3.82
W GPA: 4.2
Taking all advanced or AP courses
Wisconsin resident
White
Female
Class of 2016

Hopeful major of either Intl. Business or Biology (not sure yet)

According to collegedata.com, the average gpa for UCLA is 4.29. In addition, the admissions profile on the UC site says that students with a 30 on the ACT have a 14.4% acceptance rate. I would say try to get you ACT up to at least a 31. Also, UCs are very holistic with their admissions, so I would suggest you take on some leadership roles in clubs at your school.
UCLA: low reach

What is your UC GPA? There is a calculator in UC websites.

My UC GPA is a 4.43. I do have extracurriculars but I don’t really have any leadership positions as most of my clubs did not have them. They include:
Vocal Jazz and Madrigals- 3 years
Student Court- 3 years
Musical- 1 year
Show band- 2 years
Pep band- 2 years
Student Council- 1 year

Out of school activities include:
Volunteering at local humane society
Church worship team since 5th grade (and ongoing)
Sunday School teacher for 2 years

I’ve also done a study abroad last summer in Montreal and I’m doing one through Rotary this summer to Spain. I also have participated on many mission trips.

Might be a bit of a reach with a business or bio major. But you have nothing to worry about because your stats seem well-rounded.

Seems to me that your a match if your high school is competitive and known. UCLA lost a lot of money last year sot they are gonna take a lot of OOS students so your chances will increase bc of this.

I think that you are a probably applicant especially given your UC GPA, good luck!!

Did you apply to UCLA? I’m from Wisconsin and wondering what it takes to get in to UCLA OOS,

What it takes to get into UCLA from OOS, a generalization:
UC GPA around 4.2+, SAT around 2100+, ACT 32+. Excellent EC’s, essays, a bit of luck and a lot of money. $55K/year for OOS applicants since you will receive no financial aid.
