Does legacy help with regard to getting into UCLA?

No. The UCs give no consideration to legacy.

Do the UC schools give personal interviews if you request one?

No. UCLA alone gets nearly 50K applicants. Figure how many interviewers you would need. Next.

TheDad is right.
The only exception is for applicants to Theater, Music, Ethnomusicology or the Dance concentration within World Arts and Cultures, who will need to audition as part of their application process.
There will also be interviews for students who are considered for the Regents scholarship, etc., but UCLA will contact the student if that's applicable.

They don't even require any letter of recommendations for the same reason.

^^Not only do they not require recs, they won't accept or consider them if offered.

UC admissions = grades, test scores, essays, ECs and awards, and special ECs (i.e. athletes). No interviews, no legacy, and no recommendations.

I think if you send them letter of recommendations, they throw it away. So they probably accept but throw it away.

Boston College, Vassar, Tufts, Swarthmore, Trinity and Weslyan? If there is an interview granted, when does that happen?
