What's UCLA's acceptance rate this year?

Based on the preliminary numbers on the admission notification letter (4300 spots for 42000 students), about 10%

Nope. I think the admission letter was wrong. UCLA's freshman class will have 4300 kids but they accepted around 9000 kids for an accept rate of roughly 21%. If UCLA admitted only 10% of their applicants, the world would come to a crashing halt as we know it. It would be like Harvard.

Oh yeah forgot about that, the 4300 is the expected matriculation number.

i wonder who will have lower accept rate this year, ucla or ucb? and i wonder how low all the other UC's (besides merced) are going to be...

My money's on UCLA having the lower acceptance rate this year... we edged out UCB by 0.1% last year with a 23.4% acceptance rate, and now that we've supposedly fallen to ~21% it's gonna be hard for UCB to buck a trend that's gaining momentum with each year.

we also did get less apps this year than last year though. i wonder if riverside's acceptance rate will be driven down a little by merced.
