what are the admission requirements for ucla? i know this is kinda late to ask this, but I've applied to ucb and ucla. I'm an econ major and so I expected that if I can satisfy ucberkeley's admission requirements, I would be good to go for ucla. But i heard today from a counselor that ucla has their own admission requirements. Where is that posted online? someone help please!

go to assist.org

You can see the articulation agreement between your CC and UCLA for econ major.

You should have major prep done.

Did you do IGETC, have 60 units, what is your gpa

Econ is HIGHLY competative.

if you did biz-econ you need to do accounting classes that berkeley econ doesn’t require. Also, econ at LA requires the more difficult singlevariable calculus sequence.

okay my gpa’s 3.92 (aroudn there)
my major prep for econ is done. but what I’m worried about is the other requirements.( for example berkeley requires english writing 1A + 1B +1C. and calc 1a-1c and foreign language requirements. this wasn’t even listed in the prereqs for the econ major at bereley

[ASSIST Report: DAC 08-09 UCB GE/Breadth Articulation Agreement](<a href=“Welcome to ASSIST”>Welcome to ASSIST)

but ucla doesn’t indicate that. so…if i finish the prereqs for ucla i’m good to go?
i’m kind of worried about that.

Finish your 60 units and the pre-requisites that are offered at your college, and you should be good to go. Based on your link, I’m guessing you’re attending De Anza? UCLA requires Econ 1 and 2 (Micro- and Macroecon), Econ 11 and 41 (which aren’t available at De Anza, you’d finish these once you get into UCLA), Calc 1 and 2, and one of the English critical reading and writing requirements (about 5 at De Anza from what I see). This is to complete the ECONOMICS pre-requisites. If you’re planning to go for Business Economics, you’ll need to finish Accounting 1-3 in addition to that. Hope this helps.

presk

It does, thanks! so theres nothing else I need to take in addition to what you’ve just said? I’m only doing economics so I’m not taking accounting classes.

well igetc if you want to cover gen ed

Yep, just finish all pre-requisites that are available at De Anza and you’re set. Double-check assist.org just to be sure.

thanks presk!but just to make sure…
bump, anyone else knows the answer to my question?

Well we still be fine if we complete all pre-reqs by the Fall Semester? (Finishing 2nd Eng and 2nd Calculus courses)

I read that they don’t review the apps til Feb/March so if that is true, then I will have a letter grade for all pre-reqs.

Just complete all the courses that are stated for your major on assist

Do you need to finish every one of the requirements listed on assist? Or is it ok to leave one off?

You should complete all the requirements that are available at your particular college. I know plenty of people that were rejected from LA because they were missing even 1 pre-req. If there isn’t a course at your college that satisfies a pre-req, then don’t worry about it because you’ll finish it after you transfer. Just check assist.org

oh wow. Does the letter actually specify that’s why they were rejected? Or do should they just have gotten in and that’s the only reason?
