Uconn 2025

Oh okay, are you applying to any other dental programs?

nyu, stony brook, already accepted into stony brook and temple honors college

Iā€™m shocked at in state costs now too. Def wasnā€™t this expensive when my D was there.

Son accepted into Biz School at Storrs w UConn Award. OOS (NJ). Well respected boys Catholic prep school. 4.4 WGPA, test optional, nothing crazy as far as activities, nationally ranked soccer team, not a lot but quality community service, good recs. Congrats to all. D1 just graduated from UConn May 2020. Maybe another Husky in the houseā€¦

Anyone applying to special programs?

Kind of wrote UCONN off bc they have been off the radar - they donā€™t inundate my son with emails, mailings, etc. we almost forgot about it! Now itā€™s back in the running with 22k a year?! Anyone know if they offer in person tours?

Congrats!

My DS21 was accepted into the Music School. OOS, 3.7 GPA with $19,500 Academic and $4K music scholarships.

My son was waitlisted for Storrs. Does anyone know how (or if) the waitlist moves?

It is his first choice, and heā€™s a double legacy. So, we wait.

Accepted to Storrs for nursing
22k per yer academic excellence award

Daughter accepted OOS. $12K merit. We donā€™t quality for need based aide. Too expensive out of state, wonā€™t be going.

What is the in-state cost?

What were the stats?

Itā€™s higher for OOS than other schools my kids have applied to.

Yes. It does. I knew a kid who was also a double legacy, had a B+ average at a good suburban school, had incredibly extracurriculars, but always took the most rigorous classes. Got wait listed, got in off the wait list later in the spring. The issue is that for in-state, the cost is so much less than that at private schools, that unless the kid gets offered substantial merit money, the middle and upper middle class are choosing Storrs, since 31K/yr is a lot cheaper than 75K/yr at the private schools that donā€™t give any merit money.

31K/yr without health insurance

Thank you. We are OOS. He has a 3.7GPA, 1290 SAT (could only take it once), 4 yr varsity sport, paid work, etc. Maybe we should not have submitted scores. Heā€™s going to talk to his guidance counselor on Monday and see what he can do to continue to show interest and hope for the best. We are all disappointed - there is something about your kid going to your alma mater that is really special. Fingers crossed!

DS- Accepted, honors. In state- $6,500
