Yes. If she was accepted into ACES that means she was not accepted into nursing. Nursing admissions is very, very competitive.

Waitlisted with option to go to a regional campus, which would not work for my son because we are OOS MA.
OOS MA
3.85 unweighted
Robust EC’s
Recognized & awarded regionally for Volunteering.
No test scores.

He will be disappointed but might be a blessing in disguise. He applied to too many schools and has so far received acceptance to UMASS Amherst, URI, UNE, Temple, and Stonehill. More schools acceptances/rejects to come, and already decisions to be made. UCONN was higher on his list, but waitlist has probably made FINAL school choice easier.

Congratulations to all who have been selected!!!

For any waitlisted or rejected, Im sorry!! Its disappointing but I know there is a great school waiting for you still out there!
Good luck to all!!

Also if any 2027 people find this forum, I don’t believe the reslife login, student admin login, or HuskyCT had anything to do with acceptance!

I am really surprised by this one. At least 4 of my friends with higher GPAs were accepted to Hartford only. It’s been a hard run for me so far, I have only been accepted to 3 out of 9 schools so far. Congrats to everyone else!

Did your son have the housing info about living at Storrs, but taking classes at Hartford? I noticed this below my son’s acceptance info on the portal. It is confusing because it states that Hartford students are offered on campus living at Storrs and can take classes in Hartford before moving over to Storrs. But his acceptance just says accepted to Hartford. Yet this seems like some sort of “Hartford for a year while living at Storrs then move to Storrs” thing. It is clear as mud and he will be reaching out to the admissions counselor on Monday for clarification. I have relatives at UConn and they have told me they know kids who have done this program and loved it and it’s basically like attending Storrs. So now I am utterly confused. I am not sure if it is something that was offered to all Hartford Business students.

wow! Congratulations

Does anyone know anything about the STEM Scholars program? I couldn’t find much on my portal

So I’m pretty sure that they have to do 4 semesters as official Hartford students before they can fully transfer over to Storrs. During those 2 years they can live on campus in Storrs but have to take the majority of their classes in Hartford. I think there’s also free transportation between the 2 campuses. Definitely ask admissions for the specifics.

I think it’s an awesome opportunity, but my son doesn’t want to commute to any of his classes, and since he has ADD, we understand why adding a layer of complication to the time management equation doesn’t appeal to him. We’re all happy with his other option so we’re ok with whatever he decides. If UConn is your kiddo’s first choice, it’s a really great option!

Ah thank you! That makes more sense and is super helpful. Thank you. We are also dealing with ADD and the additional commute is not ideal. He will likely be declining this option at UCOnn. I actually would prefer him to live at home (we are close to Hartford) if he was to choose Hartford. But he wants a residential campus experience and we want that for him also. I think he will do better overall at a smaller school and he has some nice options already. He is still waiting to hear from what is currently his first choice so we have a few more weeks of waiting before a final decision.

My son will do better at a smaller school as well. It all works out!

Accepted for computer science/ engineering at Storrs. OOS and no aid. Makes it tough when already accepted to instate schools.

Been waiting to write this for a while, but I got into UCONN!!!. Was just wondering is the business school a direct admit school or do that notify you later about direct admission to the school? cuz my admission letter says "You have been admitted to the School of Business on the Storrs Campus’’

You can be directly admitted OR transfer internally later on.

Seems like you were directly admitted, although you’ll still be taking a liberal arts core for the first semester or two.
