UCONN 2026 Admissions

Okay good my portal looks the same! Thank you and wishing your child good luck as well!

My son’s was waived and button to link to SRAR is still there, even though he had gone through the process of linking anyway since SRAR was already completed for another school. Not worried.

According to the website, we have 8 days! It can come out earlier, like it has in the past. Make sure you have post notifications on for UConn’s Twitter and Instagram to see if they post any teasers. They normally do within 48 hours or so of the decision release.

There isn’t an LC for every major. But there’s a lot to choose from. There’s the Pharmacy LC, Nursing LC, International Engineering LC, Engineering LC, Public Health LC, Fine Arts LC, and so much more.

There’s both residential and non-residential LC’s. Here a link to the page: https://lc.uconn.edu

Hoping your daughter gets accepted!!

So if I’m to attend UConn, it doesn’t seem like there’s a LC for Pre-Journalism

If there isn’t an LC, you’ll just live in a non-LC area. That’s still the same areas where freshman live. Although maybe not Werth Tower cause Werth has majority of LCs there.

McMahon is a pretty good spot from what I’m told

Yeah! It’s in the center of campus. Right next to the bookstore and by the Student Union and library. It has a dining hall attached which is nice. So you don’t have to walk outside to go to the dining hall when it’s cold out lol

How hard is it to get into that hall?

So if you’re an incoming freshman, you don’t get to pick where you’ll placed on campus. ResLife picks where you’ll be based on your preferences on your housing application. When you’re a sophomore and up, you can choose where to live.

From the ResLife website: "We do not accept specific room requests on our housing application but we do allow students to provide their highest rate preference. Residential Life will not place students into an assignment that is more expensive than the rate they indicate on their housing application. Please note that all placements are based on vacancies and while we do our best to meet a student’s preferred rate, we cannot guarantee that a request for a specific room rate will result in placement in a room type that matches that rate.

The majority of housing for first year students will be in traditional doubles (Rate 1)."

Oh so it’s based on preference got it. Makes sense as you don’t want to give the freshmen too much freedom

Yeah! You also go random for a roommate unless you have a specific person you want to room with. ResLife also picks your roommate based on your preferences on the housing application.

So they don’t match anyone that will have similar interests? I could possibly have a bad roommate then if I go yikes

No they do. In the housing application ,they ask you questions on the type of roommate you want, how you want the room to be, etc. They match you based on similar interests and stuff like that.

You’ll be fine. I went random! My freshman year roommate is my best friend and we are co-RA’s together now

That’s so great to hear! That will probably be my plan if I get in and attend.
