Last night my daughter and her friend both received calls from UConn to see if they had any questions. Both have been accepted and have received the acceptance by mail. The student that called my daughter did ask her if she had been accepted yet. She said yes and he congratulated her. We are out of state (MA).

That is what they asked me @dm2011 but didn’t ask if I’d been accepted just said that I would be receiving correspondence shortly because a decision had been made. Do you think thats a good sign? I’m so nervous…

I don’t know anything about the process. I’m only telling you about our experience. Also, 3 years ago, my son and his friends received calls after they were accepted. Sounds like UConn has things a little out of order this year? Good luck!

Question: do your recs come up on the application status under documents? My friend got in today, and hers doesn’t include her recs on the website. Am I panicking for nothing??

Thanks @dm2011. Do you think you would call both accepted and rejected students?

@Uni2018 I’m wondering the same thing. This is the message I get when I log into the portal, but I have not received a call:

This application is Complete.

Admission decisions will be sent by mail over the next few weeks. If you have received an acceptance notification by mail, congratulations! We welcome you to secure your place by making your enrollment deposit above. If you have not yet received a decision by mail, we ask for your patience as we work towards finalizing all of our applications. The formal decision notification date is March 1.

I’m kind of worried that they’re only calling people who they’re admitting.

I don’t think so @neh1996, if you go to the drop down box above does it give you the option to pay a deposit now? I haven’t gotten any change of status yet…but from what I can gather whoever gets the status you have is in (from what I’m reading all through this thread) Good luck!

Oh great! And yes I do have that option. Thanks!

@neh1996 I was admitted without getting a call beforehand. Since then, a student has called me (in case I had any questions about my major) but I had heard nothing before receiving my admission. Good luck!

I am so confused as to why I got a call and no status change @deerstalkers…maybe a polite denial?:(( Whatever it is I’m anxious to know!!

My daughter found out by email on the 17th she was accepted. Looks like they are doing it week by week

My daughter is still waiting, she has a UConn email address because she took an ECE (Early College Experience) class last semester in high school. Her account was already set up prior to applying there. Still no status change since 11/6 :(

Did you guys see on the log in page that they’re doing maintenance on 3/1?! That’s gonna make all the people who get their decisions on that day extra nervous…

I got my official letter today. In state with $5k/year for a Leadership scholarship. I sent my application at the end of October. I have friends who sent there applications in a month after me and they got in before me so don’t be stressed if you still haven’t gotten in yet. There isn’t really a pattern except people with some special majors and honors acceptees may have gotten in a little early. 3-5 days before I received my letter by mail my status changed to “Admission decisions will be sent by mail over the next few weeks. If you have received an acceptance notification by mail, congratulations! We welcome you…”. Also as soon as my status changed to that I had a new blue hyperlink under financial aid that said “New Admit Scholarship Acceptance” Let me know if I can help with any more info and congrats to everyone else who got in!!

@DixieNormus Did you apply by December 1st? I’m asking because I didn’t find out until after December 1st that if you wanted to be considered for merit scholarships, you had to apply by December 1st, instead of January 1st. Since you got a scholarship, I was just wondering if you applied by December 1st.?

Still waiting… Like I think I have the stats to get in but I still just wanna know already…

^same…I’ve been told my stats are fine but I’m not optimistic at this point

@neh1996 I was nominated for The Nutmeg Scholarship by my guidance counselor so I sent my application along with supplemental materials for that scholarship in late October. And the December 1st thing is not true. They consider all incoming freshman for merit scholarships but if you apply before December 1st they give you “priority consideration”. They state that somewhere on their website.

got accepted about 5 days ago into the honors program with a major in Mathematics-Physics (im also in state)

STATS:
SAT: 2200
ACT: 33
GPA (weighted): 3.95

3 or 4 days before i got my letter i was given the option of paying my admissions deposit on the website. I applied mid-december so I dont really think the time you sent in your app matters

@DixieNormus yes it’s technically “priority consideration” but I emailed the admissions office about it and they said that they consider the priority kids first and then only if there is money left over do they consider non-priority kids.
