Could someone check their portal under financial aid for me? When I click on my daughter’s it says aid year 2015…information not available for that aid year. Wondering if someone made a mistake at the admissions office.

@Twinmom2014 I’m sorry I don’t think it was a mistake. All of my friends who have gotten in and received merit awards were able to see some kind of option to agree to their merit package under the financial aid section. I didn’t get any merit money, and I had the same message as your daughter. I’m sorry If you got need based aid, however, that will probably be put in later in March once they have had time to process all of the FAFSAs.

Accepted to Storrs.
2000 SAT
3.8/4.5 UW/W GPA
Biology Major
Kansas Applicant

@neh1996…thanks but I wanted to know if the link says 2014, which is the start year. Hers says 2015

@Twinmom2014 oh sorry about that! Mine says that too, which you’re right is odd. Probably just an error I’d guess.

Ok thanks! Just want to make sure she can take out that 5000 loan…we won’t get anything else.

Pretty sure I just got accepted with a scholarship… It says check back in 24 hours… but I just was able to accepted a “New Admit Scholarship Acceptance”
Environmental engineering, 31ACT, 3.6 gpa

“Information is pending, please check back in 24 hours.” Anyone else have/had this? Is it exactly 24 hours?

@kayyx3dee my status changed a couple nights ago and i didnt have the option to pay the deposit until the next morning, dont get worried! And i ended up getting accepted today!

Here is what has become blatantly obvious to me…I appled to OOS Universities in my surrounding vicinity and accepted into every one of them. Maryland, Penn State, Delaware, Suny Binghampton, and Rutgers. I also eceived some nice merit awards from all except Maryland.

However, my home state school of UCONN still has me waiting until nearly March and I surely wasn’t one of the first they have made offers to as I received a message today that information will be coming in the next 24 hours. i have a solild GPA from one of the finest schools in CT, great SAT scores, and a ton of EC’s. My hunch is that my home state school is looking for a preponderance of OOS students as it is nearly a 2:1 tuition disparity and also the reason why I was so quickly accepted with some merit to the fine OOS schools I applied to. Even with the merit they are throwing my way, I will still pay 10k more than in in state student at Penn State, Maryland, etc.

The sad truth is that this is a business decision for them and many well qualified students will be played because of it, regardless of how well/hard we have workde over the last four years. One of lifes many hard lessons I gather. Fred.

@twinmom2014 my D says 2015 also…maybe that means the end of the year…2014-2015?

@mss 418…yes received the acceptance today.

@kayyx3dee don’t worry…my ds portal changed in stages…she at first didn’t have the option to pay the deposit but then it showed up a few days later

does that mean I definitely got accepted with a scholarship?

Has anyone been rejected? Does UConn send out all of their acceptances first and then the rejections at the end after all the acceptances have gone out?

^ we are wondering the same thing

I’ll let you know. They called me last Weds and told me I would hear over the next week or so and asked if i had any questions. I haven’t heard yet and no status change so I’ll let you know if its a rejection. Its so hard waiting :((

My D was accepted (in state. 3.4 unweighted GPA, 32 ACT, great EC’s, essay and recs) but AId Year was 2015
2015 so I am assuming she did not get any merit aid. Or does notification come later online or in the mail? Like many others on here she did very well as an OOS student in several public and private schools. Confused…

accepted into aces with 1750. is there any way I could get into the business school now? Or is it too late

Instate D received letter yesterday that she was accepted into business school. She already has her sights
elsewhere - wish we could find out earlier with UCONN!

@accioshannon,

Completed on November 24. I just noticed I had a UCONN EDU email listed. Do all applicants get assigned one? Or was this a recent update to my portal? TIA Fred.

pay deposit hyper link showed up as well…hope it’s not for a branch–has anyone heard of branch offerings as of yet in lieu of Storrs?
