This college process is so unfair… so many great kids get turned away. None of it makes any sense. Hang in there @miesha5 :-*

My D has a 3.42 unweighted GPA, lots of honors classes, 25 ACT score. Think she has a chance of getting into UCONN?

has her status changed ? my D ACT IS 27 her SAT IS SLIGHTLY UNDER1800 GPA 92 we don’t calculate the other way so i can’t figure it out i tried once her status has not changed ): like i said in above post lost of great thing to add to her application but its not looking good for her maybe your D HAS A BETTER SHOT WHATS HER MAJOR

@miesha5… I had the same testing issue with one of my daughters. Great applicant in every way until those stupid test scores ( Makes me mad when I see lazy kids get higher scores and do nothing throughout HS but get surpassed over other kids because of that test) She applied to some test optional and she got into all of them with merit. Good thing some schools can see past that tricky test, unfortunately UCONN does not.

I hear ya see this is the issue that i haven’t mentioned my D is a huge sports fan I mean huge D1 sports fan she wanted to go to a UVM UD UCONN PENN STATE RAHH RAHH SCHOOL since 3rd grade going to the games and being part of that and watch the sports all of it was part of her college dream her major is exercise science so she wants to train pro athletes

My D applied to Animal Science program. Has worked at Vet’s office for almost a year and interned there for a semester. UCONN has a great animal science program but I’m afraid her stats might be too low. :(

Someone may have brought this up before, but has anyone been denied yet? I feel like there have only been acceptances sent out…

@Bellaluna5 You never know! What’s her application status?

I was recently accepted into the Storrs campus as an English major. My twin sister is still awaiting her decision, and her intended major is music education. She auditioned for the music program and is awaiting that decision as well. We are both in state students.

As for my stats, my GPA is 99.40 (we do not calculate on a 4 point scale, and I’ve tried to convert it but the math is fuzzy), my SAT is 1810 (1210 Math/Critical Reading), and I’m in the top 15% of my class. I’ve cheered for four years, play rugby, and am a National Honors Society member. I have taken two AP tests but only received 3s, and I know UConn, for the most part, only accepts 4s & 5s so I don’t have credits coming in, unless I get a 4 on my AP tests this year.

UConn is my top choice, I’m ecstatic that I got in. But it’s nerve wrecking for my sister, I really hope she got in! Her rank and GPA are higher than mine, as well as her SAT. However her status has not changed to that long message, it still says “You application was completed Dec…its important you check your status…”.

‘This Application is Complete. Application decisions will be sent out over the next few weeks…’ No option to pay.

@Bellaluna5 I’m in the same position as your daughter

@Kayyx3dee… I have been wondering the same thing. My one daughter does not even have a status change and I am not holding out hope. Sorry. I think we will see a rejection on 03/01 or maybe a waitlist.

i agree I’m just thinking rejections posted on 3/1

I posted this before, but I got into the main campus with relatively low stats for UConn - 3.6 UW GPA, 1 honors class, 2 APs. No EC’s, no volunteer service. My SAT was just under 1800. I did have some significant outside influences that I believe they took into account, though.
I will be a Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences major. Oh, and I’m in state.

You still have a couple of days before their notification deadline…I know several extremely strong students who haven’t heard back yet, and I would be absolutely shocked if they were rejected. Keep up the hope.

I agree with masqie, I know of some great students not accepted yet, It’s a weird system they have, very stressful, but March 1 is coming up. Good luck to all!

Has anyone gotten an acceptance that didn’t have the option to pay their admissions deposit ahead of time?

My daughter had an option to pay before status change…my other daughter no status change…still.

Still no option to pay…not looking good :(

My son was rejected yesterday. Sad here for him. UConn was his first choice. Thank goodness it’s his only rejection so far…OOS, 3.3 GPA, 1850 SAT, great EC’s but a late bloomer on the grades. All A’s senior year didn’t bring up that GPA enough.

^ so sorry to hear that its sad for theses kids believe me I know wish I had the right words for you =((

I am sorry to hear that. Very disappointing for these kids.
