Oh, it gets better! On Monday, daughter had the message “Your decision is available, do you want to know your decision, select Yes or No.” We selected Yes, and it said “Congratulations … Acceptance …”. Later that evening, we looked at it and had the same message. The next day, Tuesday, I went into her account to check the Financial Aid link, and her status changed back to the “Application is now complete … if you’ve received a letter, Congratulations … if not please be patient while we finish … official Notification Date is March 1st .” WTH does that mean? Of course I tried to call Admissions and couldn’t get through until after 3 pm, and the woman I spoke to said their system was down, and could be down for as long as 48 hrs. Perhaps maybe that’s why no traffic today and people have not heard anything? Anyway, it’s all good for my Daughter, her official letter came in the mail yesterday.

Does anybody understand being accepted to a branch vs. wait listed at Storrs?

What major is your son going for @tylemsmom?

What’s your daughter major @katniss1? I applied to the business school - nothing yet and its so hard to wait.

My D applied for neuroscience/physiology.

My S applied to business school and has yet to hear anything. His status has never been changed. Just a harsh waiting game. Luckily he has already been accepted to three other schools, so we are not sitting here biting our nails. Really a shame that UCONN has proceeded this way, which is unlike any other school we have heard from so far.

My D has been wait listed also. Don’t think it’s fair to have to wait until the end of May. Bad taste for UCONN.

Its so hard @ctparents. I got a call last week telling me I would hear shortly but still nothing!!!

I was wait listed as well

Did your status just change?

I’m sorry @kayyx3dee =((

@kayyx3dee So sorry

I’m mostly just upset that I have to keep waiting. Very annoying.

@kayyx3dee big hugs. I am sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo surprised! you have a few other acceptances at other schools right? [-O<

@cakeisgreat Thank you <3 Yes I do! Still waiting on Villanova but guessing I’ll be wait listed there as well. Trying to stay positive. I just have to suck it up and keep on waiting! Good luck to everyone else

My D is also in the group that hasn’t heard anything yet, not even a status change. “Application complete” since Dec 10.
Applied to the Business school - 4.6 weighted GPA (3.95 unweighted) all honors/AP, 2250 SAT (with 800 CR/650 M). Maybe light on the EC’s ? - she’s editor in chief of the yearbook, is in several honor societies, NHS, volunteer work. I find it hard to believe that she won’t get in, but this wait is excruciating! :-L

Son was wait listed:

Your application has been carefully reviewed and evaluated by our Admissions Committee. At this time, we are offering you a place on our Waiting List for admittance to our main campus in Storrs. You must respond to our offer by selecting one of the options below from the dropdown menu, and then by clicking on Process Waitlist Choice to submit your selection. A final decision regarding your acceptance to this campus will occur in late May.

As an alternative to being placed on the Waiting List, you may accept our immediate offer to attend the UConn regional campus of your choice, as a commuting student. Our conveniently located regional campuses offer an intimate setting where you may earn your degree in selected programs, or complete up to the first two years of coursework required for most UConn majors and then transition to our main campus in Storrs to complete your studies. In order to be accepted at a regional campus, you must respond to our offer by selecting option #2 from the dropdown menu below, and then by clicking Process Waitlist Choice to submit your selection.

I wish to be placed on the Waiting List for Storrs until a final decision is reached in late May (We encourage you to explore the opportunities available at our regional campuses while you remain on the Waiting List. If you are not offered admission to the Storrs campus in late May, you will still be eligible to enroll at one of the regional campuses on a space-available basis.);

I wish to accept an immediate offer of admission to one of UConn’s regional campuses (Avery Point, Greater Hartford, Stamford, Torrington, Waterbury), thereby removing my name from the Waiting List for the Storrs campus; or

I wish to withdraw my application for the University of Connecticut (press Process Waitlist Choice).

Please note that if no action is taken you will not be placed on our Waiting List. It is important that you make your selection from the dropdown box below, and submit it by clicking on Process Waitlist Choice.

He’s been accepted at UHartford, Wentworth, and RIT…he’s waiting for RPI and was deferred from EA2 at WPI. So at least he has choices. His #1 is probably RPI, but he also know he might not get in. UConn was really a financial choice since we’re in-state.

It’s difficult to be wait listed but he has a lot of good schools to choose from. What major is he going for @wizzard90?

@wizzard90
Sorry to hear of the wait-listing. I just wanted to inform you that if your son really wants to go to UCONN it is important that he regularly contacts admission during the wait-list period to express his continued interest in going to UCONN. This will give him a heads up on getting accepted from the wait-list since showing interest is very important for those who are wait-listed. Also if there is something worthy to provide to admissions that comes up such as awards or accomplishments send it to admissions with your note of continuing interest.
Best Wishes
