They really don’t have their act together this year! I thought what Fordham did to the applicants this year was awful but this is worse. I can’t image what a letdown this is for all the kids that thought they were admitted to the honors program and into their major only to find out it was a mistake. As for D#2 no change in status since she applied…we continue to wait without really caring anymore.

yeah, i think i am removed from their honors program as well. i got my acceptance letter in the mail today they gave a $15000 a year but nothing on honors. meh

Agreed, my D got accepted through the portal to a branch. Top of her class, very high SAT scores, in state and accepted to more competitive schools. Was quite a surprise, but when it came by mail she was actually was admitted to Storrs. D was very disappointed to be admitted to a branch so by the time she received actual admit to Storrs by mail she had such a bad taste in her mouth Uconn Is no longer on her short list. They are losing quality students with their poor notification system this year.

What a mess. We are still waiting, portal hasn’t changed since early November.

a big fat mess

@twinmom2014 , i know the feeling. i am a twin and my brother got into honors weeks before i was even notified and didnt get into the program. the waiting game is rough

just curious, twinmom, what did fordham did to their applicants?

PURGATORY !!!

@klkl I think they sent out acceptances to all their rejected students somehow then had to take it back

That is exactly what they did.

Has anyone heard back on acceptance from Allied Health Sciences major?

still nothing here…

and still nothing…

@Lastone04, my D sounds like the same student as yours, but we haven’t heard anything yet. Did you contact UConn when she didn’t get into Storrs initially? It seems like it would have been an error.

Yeah, I put my app in back in October, have had everything in well before and haven’t heard a word. I’m feeling like maybe I’ve been waitlisted or I’m not at Storrs. I’m a biology major. At this point I’m so sick of the ridiculousness I’ve all but almost written them off looking to choose most likely between my originial top 2 University of Vermont or University of New Hampshire. I understand they’re busy, but I’ve heard from all of my other 7 schools and they’re system clearly has bugs. The inconsistency is definetly going to hurt the number of kids accepting…

I did contact storrs because her portal also had a place to accept merit scholarship so I felt it was likely a mistake. She was accepted to allied health. When I finally spoke to someone there they immediately changed her to Storrs

@Lastone 04, What date did your daughter find out her acceptance through portal?

Her acceptance to the branch for allied health was 2 weeks ago today, received it in the mail with acceptance to allied health in Storrs that following Saturday.

UCONN is not impressing me at this point. If this is any indication of things to come I’m a little worried. There has also been a few news reports in the last few weeks that are disturbing. It is the most affordable option for us instate. Not that we have a decision from them yet. We have heard from 6 of the 7 schools my son has applied to. He was accepted with good merit offers to 5 and deferred to regular decision on the 6th (Still waiting on Northeastern). Communication with all 6 has been wonderful. Email reminders and notifications from all…except UCONN.

So should we assume no news is bad news, because that is where we are at at this point?
