Uconn Chance me Please.....

I am a current Junior who will take the SAT in a month, which i am shooting for around 1250-1300 range and I am take the ACT a couple days after hoping 27-30

My GPA is 3.4 UW and 3.6 W

  • this is due to the fact that freshmen year I took an engineering elective which at the end of the year I received a C-. (I want to either drop that grade or retake it but for right now I am not sure what will happen.) In that year if i would of not taken that class my fresh man year GPA would of been 3.5 UW and 3.7 W but instead it was 3.3 UW and 3.5 W. Sophomore year 3.5 UW, and 3.67 W, this year I did very well, except in guitar which i received a B. overall so far it would probably end up 3.5 UW maybe 3.6 UW and 3.7-3.8 W. A major question I have is does Uconn recalculate GPA so that they only count you core classes. (English,Spanish, math, SS, ETC.)

Freshman year: Honors Geometry and English
Sophomore year: Honors English
Junior year: Honors Pre-calc and Physics also Uconn/Ap Micro and Marco economics
Senior year: I plan on taking Uconn/AP Spanish and Honors English

I have 200 + Community service (around 50 were in foreign countries)
I was in the Chess club and Basket Ball Club (not team)
Planning to be in 2-3 clubs by senior year…

I am going to be in choir next year
Also have been singing since I was in 7th grade and have gotten played on a radio type station/ might create a Label and starting a group/band
Play 2 instruments and am starting a company where i will sell (shirts, music, etc…) My plan is with all the money I make to give to charity…
In National honors society
Might join Spanish national honors society if it will help
I also will be taking a Class at either my local community college or a Uconn branch over the summer for class credit if that helps (:

BUMP

I think it depends on your major. I was accepted to UCONN (business) with 3.85u/w 4.4w. 1330 SAT. 6 AP’s and 3 classes at the local cc. So keep working on your GPA, and I recommend that you spend some prep time before SAT’s and try to get that up. I missed out on some merit at a couple of schools because my SAT wasn’t closer to 1400.

@ventana10 is going in as undecided hard or computer science?

@Kingly71 if you are decided on computer science, then I would be upfront and go in cs.
