I've got a 3.7 GPA (top 20% of my class), SATs of 1800, secretary of a club, also involved in 2 others, volunteered 100+ hours at a hospital, been on a sport 3 years of high school (varsity junior/senior year) and I've taken 8 1/2 AP classes, the rest honors. I also live in CT. Is this good enough for UCONN? Because I know they've gotten a lot more selective over the past years.

I have to say that you’re in pretty good shape for UConn, but I would’nt say you’re a definite to get in. The only reason I say this is because of your SAT score. The situation with uconn is that i can confidently say uconn takes ALOT of interest in your SAT scores, and I mean ALOT. The average SAT score for the class of 2017 was 1890 (1280/1600) which is pretty high. The average for the class for 2018 is going to be even higher because each year it is getting more and more difficult to get in. I can speak because I’m in state and I had a GPA of 3.6 and an SAT of 1610 and I was not admitted to storrs, i was branched. Another example: I knew a person who had a 2.8 GPA in high school but scored a 2040 on his SATs (1400/1600) and he was admitted to the School of Business. So as you can tell UConn takes SATs very seriously. If i were you I would try to do a little better on your SATs. If you can get 1900 or so I would say youre in great shape! GOOD LUCK
