My S was accepted to the business school, we are oos
@en5nee I think so but I’m not sure how that work because I don’t know if there is any difference between major and program. I applied political science major.
@en5nee Ahh, thank you. My son is a political science major so I wasnt sure what everyone was referring to.
Hi guys – I cannot seem to see my admissions decision. When I log in to my account, there is no option that says Check Admissions Status. How did you guys see your decisions?
@en5nee my daughter is in the exact same situation, oos, applied for nursing but got into ACES. The paragraph you quoted does make it sound like there is the remote possibility that you could still get into the nursing program. But who knows?? Did you feel like your stats were good enough to get you into nursing? We really didn’t know what to expect.
I don’t think you can waitlist to Storrs from a waitlisted branch.
I applied for ACES and was wait listed for storrs UConn was my dream school too, so I’ll have to figure myself out from here.
I’m instate, 1920 SAT (590 M, 660 CR, 670 W), 94.24 weighted GPA, honors and AP classes all throughout high school with EC’s. Maybe it was my essay? Oh well
Congrats to everyone who made it in though!
My son got accepted today, Chemical Engineering at Storrs. We are from NJ. SAT: Math = 690, Reading= 610, and Writing= 660. Weighted GPA = 3.9. Varsity Football and Baseball. National Honor Society and 300 hours of volunteer service. His mom and I both loved U Conn, but he also got into the U of Delaware as a Chemical Engineer major. That’s a top 10 program in the country. I think he’s going to choose Delaware.
My son was waitlisted to Storrs in Business School. He is staying on waitlist and probably deposit at either UMass Amherst or Towson University in case they don’t take him. My daughter is 2nd year there so would be nice to have both as Huskies!
Good luck all!
When I applied I didn’t see Human Rights major on my CommonApp major list so I picked Political Science instead. But I actually want to study Human RIghts…
@Emooly you have to go to “student center”
@bb0721 I felt like I had good stats; 1980 on my sats in one sitting, 94 gpa and lots of extra curriculars including an internship in a hospital for nursing. I talked to kids in the nursing program there and they all said that I’d get in which is why I’m hoping that I’m not just in aces
@motortrend Thank you! I got accepted. I was kind of expecting it, since UConn was a safety for me.
Our daughter(International student)has been accepted to the Engineering program(Biomedical) She competes at an International level in Athletics 4.0 GPA, 500 volunteer hours, Honors with Distinction honoured to be accepted and be a Huskie! Good luck to everyone
Has anyone received a scholarship? Or is that in the mail?
New to posting here but have been a lurker for weeks. First, congrats to all those accepted! My D has been accepted, in state, to biomedical engineering BUT that is contingent upon her successful completion of the bridge program. I’ve done the research and know what it is. Is anyone else’s child REQUIRED to do the bridge program? They only way she can be considered "underrepresented " is because she’s a female.
She has great gpa, and stats. She’s coming from a public high school in which she participated in the Project Lead The Way program for four years and earned college credits all four years. Graduating in top 10% of her class with honors.
What bothers me is her friends that are male and were accepted, whose stats are not as good, do not have this bridge program as a requirement. Two of her girlfriends who were also accepted in engineering also have to do the bridge program. 5 weeks during the summer, full time. She has a full time summer job lined up that is supposed to help her pay for college - now she can’t do that. She knows the rigors of engineering - she’s been doing it successfully all through high school. I just don’t understand. Do all girls going into engineering have to take this? Please let me know. Thank you. A little confused and upset in CT.
Cannot understand. Still see “Your admission decision will be posted here when it is available.” on my portal :-S
@greenhk Hi! I’m an in-state girl who was just accepted into the Biomedical engineering program. There was no mention of the bridge program in my acceptance. Admittedly my stats are higher than UConn’s range (34 ACT, 3.9 GPA) and I also go to boarding school out of state. That is SUPER frustrating though, and I think if my acceptance was contingent on that I wouldn’t even consider Uconn.
@greenhk no, not all women going into engineering have to complete the bridge program. I am a female accepted to the engineering college and it is not included in my decision.
@greekhk I was also accepted to the biomedical engineering program without the bridge program as a female. I am out of state though. I definitely understand why you’re confused/upset, especially since your daughter is in her top 10%, which is something UCONN usually values…
