UCONN class of 2022

I’m honestly freaking out. My name isn’t showing up in the phonebook, yet some of my friends’ names are. My portal hasn’t updated, it only says that my application was completed on December 05, and that I should continue checking back for my decision. Can someone please tell me if you think that I was waitlisted/declined? I’m in state if that helps.

@JJay and @2022pride Look at @JerseyMom2022’s post above: her daughter has already been accepted and still has none of those things in her portal.

I saw that… ???
not sure I believe it :frowning:
sorry to say.

JJay I remain confident that with your scores and grades you are IN. UConn is VERY heavy on scores despite what they say about a holistic view of the overall student. They want to be able to say their average SAT was at such and such a high level. The phonebook thing is lame if we are looking for clues. Look back into 2020 and 2021 class threads and there are people in those saying students were in the phonebook and then didn’t get in and vice versa. You are going to get in - mark my words

@Vipper: Thank you very much. I still think my GPA is too low. College admissions see red flag when SAT is 1510 and GPA is 3.7. doesn’t match up. I didn’t take Honors classes - hours and hours of homework is not my thing. Plus I applied to Business Program which killed my chances - blaming my parents for that.
My school is soooo competitive and I’m competing with GPA 4.7. I’ll keep you updated… Thanks again!

@JJay. I feel the same as you, it wouldn’t make sense

@patfan12 I believe it came in the mail on 2/12
On 2/10 her portal said: "This application is complete. As we work toward finalizing our admissions decisions, self-service is currently unavailable. Please continue to check this page in the upcoming days for the latest information on the status of your application.

If you have already received your admission decision and are looking to pay your enrollment deposit, go back to the previous page (your Student Center) and click the Pay Enrollment Deposit link."
Under student email it says “none”
Portal has not changed since 2/10

@JJay my daughter’s GPA is 3.77. Before the semester grades cake out it was 3.728. Her ACT is 30. We are also out of state. You do have a point about the business school being uber selective but you certainly sound like a strong candidate for the School of Arts and Sciences. For what it is worth all the early acceptances seem to be from the art department (applicants with portfolios) like my daughter.
Please don’t fixate on that email thing. I assure you my daughter’s still says ‘none’

@JerseyMom2022 does your daughter have access to the financial aid link?

What are my chances? I applied Undecided into the ACES Exploratory program. ACT: 29, WGPA: 4.077 and obv extracurriculars. Portal still says, “Your application was completed on December 05, 2017. It is important for you to check your application status frequently. Your admission decision will be posted here when it is available.” Nervous!

@Lynn26 there is a link there that says “View Financial Aid” When you click on it it says:

“Aid Year 2019,
Institution Aid Year Description, University of Connecticut
Access is not currently available for this aid year.”

She got an email two days after her acceptance letter that told her that aid notification is mid March.

Hope that helps.

@JerseyMom2022: I don’t have access to the FA link

I don’t even have a “View Financial Aid” link.
Under the FA section there’s a box that says: “Click the View Financial Aid link to access your finacial aid information.”
There’s no link to click.

Thanks for the support!
Enough for today… got to get on with my day
There are other fish in the sea

@JJay I don’t have a link either. I just have that box

When I click the Financial Aid link it comes up with a window that has a chart where it says 2019 Access is not available for this current year. Also, when I search my name in the phonebook, it comes up. 3.8 GPA, 1410 ACT, OOS, multiracial, good ecs applied undecided business.

My son has a link under financial aid titled “new scholarship admit acceptance.” When he clicks on it, his name and numerical ID are at top of a lengthy document called UConn’s Scholarship Policies and Conditions. At the bottom of the document is a button to click “accept.”

No idea what it means because portal is unchanged. May be nothing.

where do you find the phone book

Honestly all, I went back and reviewed my Naviance and the UConn scattergram. According to the scattergram, there is an extremely high chance that I should be accepted. I am well above the line and almost all students with similar credentials as me have been accepted. With this being said, my portal hasn’t updated and I’m not in the phonebook. I am not losing hope for UConn, so you shouldn’t either.

Do we think there’s any chance decisions are coming out today?

I’m going to assume that decisions will actually come out on March 1st because of how much bigger the application pool is this year.

With all this talk I just checked my portal. I last checked it on Thursday and I didn’t notice anything but today there is a change. If you read the box at the top that says what you applied for and the campus mine now says:

Fall 2018 | Undergraduate | Freshman| ACES | Exploratory | Storrs |

I went back and checked my common application to make sure I applied to Business Management and I did. This is a change from what it has said historically. I am not sure what ACES is yet but it seems like it’s an exploratory program which is fine with me. My stats are not nearly as high as some of the people here and I have no idea what I want to do for the rest of my life.

P.S. I couldn’t find my email in the phone book so whatever that means.
