@JerseyMom2022 Congratulations! Was your D a fine arts applicant or ACES? Has anyone heard from Storrs ACES?
Fine arts @YoungOne4
Thoughts on chances for UConn…As we await UConn Admission decisions this week I was wondering if any one could comment on my admission chances. My GPA is 3.88 and SAT is 1220. Ranked top 15% in class of 300. I have taken 5 AP and 9 Honors courses. Lots of EC’s including class vice president for 2 years, student government 4 years, Boys Varsity volleyball captain, girls volleyball team manager, Student mentor, National Honor Society, etc. I am also a Legacy applicant (father went to UConn and is a donor - not huge one but has given to the school every year). I know the school is stats heavy. Oh, I applied to CLAS so not Business or Engineering or anything. I’ve been accepted to 4 other schools already (Fairfield, Umass, Bryant, Westfield) and this is last one I am waiting on.
@Vipper i am pretty sure you will get in CLAS. your stats are good. good luck. keep us posted
@Vipper, I believe you are competitive for admission to CLAS. Are you in-state or OOS? What is your prospective major within CLAS? My daughter is a senior MCB major. And, I saw your question posted on Reddit and the very rude, inconsiderate responses that you received (except for the last couple of replies). I am sorry that some just choose to treat others with disrespect.
Ridiculous responses on reddit. I am OOS and cognitive science but would be open to general liberal arts to start
do you all think Friday is the earliest we will start hearing back from UCONN?
I believe all portals will be updated soon
@IvyLeaguer225, perhaps by Friday or Saturday. BUT it is POSSIBLE you will get something in your snail mailbox first. So check your mailbox diligently. And warn your parents to be careful. The envelope is larger than a regular letter but could easily be mistaken for junk mail. My D got her’s on Feb 12 and her portal STILL doesn’t say she has been admitted. They will also email you about 2 days after the letter comes. Financial aid comes in mid March.
@JerseyMom2022 Thank you.
Did anyone else get a call from Uconn today saying that they hadn’t received your SAT/ACT scores? after I told the student representative that my portal said they had received them, she told me not to worry and that it “must be a problem on my end” this worries me because we should be getting decisions this Friday.
DD received snail mail acceptance to Fine Arts - DMD program today - DD just opened it! No mention of $, holding our breath. Read on this post that $ info will come in March. Anyone know? We live in NY and have other DD at SUNY Bing. DH and I may have to split!
Congrats @Beartrap - my D was accepted to DMD as well - in state. Best of luck to you in making a final decision!
@Beartrap CONGRATULATIONS!
your daughter will get an email in about two days. The email says financial aid notifications are made in mid March.
How sure are we that we are getting decisions tomorrow??
Don’t know for sure. According to the class of 2021 string, decisions last year started showing up in the portal in the evening of Friday, Feb 24; the year before that, it was Saturday, Feb 24.
Interested to hear if anyone has called the admissions office to get info about when they will release the decisions.
Also interested in knowing if anyone has called and inquired about when decisions will be sent out either by mail or portal, so i dont have to keep worrying if it could be today or not.
I didn’t call. I saw on past posts that when people called to ask they would say decisions would be released by March 1 so I’m not bothering to call. I’m just bugging my D to keep checking her portal lol. She has no changes on her portal btw.
When are the portals usually updated, I know for one of my other schools it was after 8pm, is uconn the same way?
I had a daughter who was accepted last year and her acceptance was posted early evening with a paper notification of merit a week later. The UConn portal is one of the clunkier ones out there and many of her peers struggled to find acceptance on line. Site can ce found by searching for UConn net id single sign on, entering user name and password, then clicking on self service, then student center, then check application status. Also would recommend resetting Netid password tonight if your student has long since forgotten it!
