UCONN Class of 2023

Hey guys! Ik decisions dont come out for a while but I thought I’d make this thread in advance.

UCONN is a late one. Looks like it was late Feb last year. Do they release merit with decisions?

UCONN will probably be the last one in for our daughter, so long wait ahead of us as it’s high on the list.

In 2016 my son got his decision late December long before any other school. I believe depending on the school they apply for within the college it could be anytime after their deadline. He had his letter in the mail before they posted in the portal and before their official release date. Good Luck it’s really a wonderful place!!

Hi. Yes from what I hear it is a long wait. He applied and sent everything in Oct 28. Not a peep from them. The portal shows it all submitted, and he did husky for a day. Let’s see what happens. He also has Fairfield on his list as #2.

Nice! I have one in Storrs and one in Fairfield! Good Luck !

If memory serves me right the School of Fine Arts is usually one of the first to send acceptance letters. DS received his mid February. FA came weeks later.

@mrs806 You have one child in each school. Cool. What are their thoughts on each.

Yes, They are both really happy. Two very different schools for two very different boys. We love UConn for its fantastic academics and for the incredible energy and school spirit. We love Fairfield for the small close knit community and their academic standing as well. My first son did not care if the school was large or small so UConn was a good choice for him. My second son loves UConn and we visit all the time but he really wanted a smaller school and he loved Fairfield from the beginning and if they are not happy they will not do well even though the price for UConn is significantly less, it was not the right fit for him. He found the hustle and bustle of the large university overwhelming and loves it at Fairfield. The food is excellent at both schools so no issues there. Classes are hard in both schools and they are stressed all the time. Any thing I can help you with don’t hesitate to ask. I don’t know if you have been through this before or its your first but what a brutal process!!

Question for those that submitted uconn applications by 11/1, did anyone check to see if you have changes on your portal? We saw a few changes re: payment portal, but no decision yet

Nothing that I see @bearden.

My son applied in early October - no changes that I can see on his portal.

Same here. My son applied in late Oct. no changes

My son received a letter from business school at uconn Friday stating that admissions shared his app to business school and they hope uconn is at the top of his list…trying to see if anyone got same letter
Is it wishful thinking they noticed him or is it a standard letter everyone who applies gets??

@beachmama1 my son got the same letter. When he saw the envelope from UConn in the mailbox he was SO excited and now we don’t know what to think from that letter either.

@BostonMama did he apply to business school too?
More I think about it…everyone prob gets it as they can get accepted into other campuses too

@beachmama1 yes, he did apply as an undeclared business major. I just texted my friend whose daughter also applied to UConn and she did NOT get that letter.

@BostonMama Interesting!! My son applied undeclared business too
It’s his favorite but not mine at 53k… hoping for some merit?

@Beachmama1 hoping for good news for both of them. My son got into UMass Amherst which is in state for us and a great deal at $28K in state tuition. He also qualifies to apply for the Koplik Award which would make his UMass Amherst tuition free. Free is nice!

@BostonMama yes free is nice! My son could go instate to URI for 28k but he is so adimant not to go there

I applied for physiology and neurobiology major and didn’t get the letter
