I have been accepted to the business schools of UConn, Delaware and Fordham. I am finding it very hard to decide. Any suggestions?

Well Fordham is the most expensive out of the three. I also got into UConn and Delaware and can't decide between the two but think Delaware is nicer. I don't know much about it's business programs.

Can not go wrong with any of them. If you want investment banking, choose Fordham. If you want accounting, then UConn of course.

I visited UConn and Delaware this past week and I am still confused. I loved both campuses. My fear with UConn is that it is in the middle of nowhere and the weekends may be boring. If you do not drink are there other things to do at UConn during the weekend?

I have a friend who got into UCONN last year but was waitlisted at Delaware. He got off the wait list in like, July, and went to Delaware. He likes it there. I have friends at UCONN who really like it there too, it's just not the same type of area as Newark. They are both great schools. My friend at Fordham is transferring but he didn't like the area so I don't know why he went in the first place! It's a great school too but pretty $$$.

UCoon is in the middle of nowhere. Delaware has shops and restaurants within walking distance. Fordham is great, but area not so great. Overall I think Delaware is prettier, great academics and you cant beat the tuition even for out of state.

I plan to major in accounting. Do you think Delaware and UConn are comprable academicly for accounting?

I am not a hugh partier. Would Delaware or UConn be better for me socially?

Is Delaware a safe campus?

Both have a party reputation but no matter where you go you can find people like you that aren't big partiers. It's really all relative. There was a whole thing about Delaware being safe. It's as safe as anywhere. I mean who would have thought VT wasn't a safe place? Besides a lot of safety depends on how safe you make yourself. People do stupid things like walking alone at night or getting drunk. I'd be more worried about that kind of stuff.

How about academicly? I appreciate your input - I must decide by the 1st?

Areas the Schools list are dominate over one another.

Fordham: Investment Banking and Investment Management. This is because of its location...New York is one of the Financial Capitals of the world (London is the other if you are wondering)

UConn: Accounting (Target 35 by Big 4...Pretty much everyone I know that is an Accounting major is going to a Big 4 firm), Risk Management and Insurance (Location in relation to Hartford...and also because it was #10 by US News a few years ago), Management (#3 by AMA), Real Estate (#5 in US News), and Financial Advising (Alot of the #1 offices for top financial firms are located in state and recruit heavily from UConn....#1 Ameriprise office, #1 MetLife office, #1 New York Life office, etc....CT is a very wealthy state.)

Delaware is a good school, but not yet on the level of the other two in terms of Business. Perhaps one day....who knows?

What do they do at UConn on the weekends? Are there things to do if you are not a partier?

Lets put it this way....you don't need to drink to have fun.

UD's new president is currently the dean of Wharton...take into that what you want

The President position at Delaware is much more prominent than Dean of Wharton.....Its like becoming the head coach of a major sports team, from being the assistant coach. Will the fact that he was dean of Wharton help build up the rankings....obviously, but not that much. Sacred Heart University just had their business school donated by Jack Welch...that will help, but not much.

Omniscient1, tell us what you really think - Delaware shouldn't be anyone's first choice.

lol...Delaware is a very good school, but if you do not want to hear the truth, then do not ask.

popsicle why would you say that?

I wasn't saying anything bad - I was being sarcastic - omniscient1 never seems to miss an opportunity to praise UConn and dis UD.

o stop it you cry baby.

Delaware is truly an amazing school, I really could not imagine going anywhere else. So stop all your nonsense.
