UConn Early Action

YEah kicksave, if you wouldn’t mind sharing those stats that’d be cool

So I got an email saying “Please check your UConn admissions application on-line as soon as possible. A change has been made to your application status.”, but my login information isn’t working. I’ll call on Monday when they open to figure out my login problem, but does this mean I was deferred since it didn’t say they made a decision?

^ That means they made a decision. Just keep on checking back every 5 or so minutes until it works.

Okay thanks, did you get the same email? I got nervous since mine didn’t have the two boxes like Bonacspud’s email.

^ Yea I got the same email, and then 2 days later I got the letter in the mail :D.

Soccer2-Was that email sent today or yesterday? I’m just curious to know if they are being sent out over the weekend. My son has yet to hear.

As I mentioned in my other post, I am not convinced that the notifications are being made in any particular order. I have seen no evidence to suggest it and I have personal knowledge of some highly qualified students who have not heard back while some less stellar students have received their acceptances. I propose that it is human nature to try to find order even where none exists.

TheMomster- it was sent on friday, sorry! But yeah I don’t think there’s an order, they received all of my stuff on October 25, but I am not one of the “highly qualified students.”

Joe- thank you, that’s such a relief to hear, you got the same email and got in. It’s just weird that they send different emails to different people.

I’m so anxious now to hear! It’s telling me that my login information is incorrect, but I am copying and pasting it right from the email that they sent me when i first applied.

Yeah me too I also got that same email as well. BUT THEN I GOT IN ALSO TOO! I’m actually confused about the decision though and am wondering if I got punked because I must admit that I didn’t think my 2.4 GPA gave me a good chance of getting in. My letter of acceptance was definitely my most prized holiday gift also as well. Additionally, I received a scholarship to the honors nursing program and I can’t wait to jump into the scene! However I am still wondering if this is a mishap. Should I call the board of admissions because this blog is making me feel a little bit in the guilty area since there seem to be a lot of other more deserving applicants. This is such a dilemma… any thoughts???

^Well gpa isnt everything. They consider it holistically. Your SAT/ACT scores, essay, EC’s, etc.

After pondering extensively about your response I reviewed all of the aspects of my application thoroughly and I have boiled my acceptance down to my mere excellence on the ACT. I actually worked very diligently with my tutor to receive a score of a whopping 21 and that must have been the deciding factor for me. Does that make more sense or no not really? Be honest if you don’t mind because I really am not sure why else I would have gotten in because also the only person I am related to who went to UConn is my great aunt. Also my Grandfather went there. As did my Mom as well as my dad also too. Additionally I am not quite sure if this counts as legacy connections but also as well as my other family members who attended the prestigious school of UConn, my second cousin (through marriage (twice removed)) went there too and she resides in Storrs Connecticut too as well also.

You have a 25 ACT and a 3.6 GPA, trolololol.

lol guyz i gotted H@CkEdDd

my status changed to wait 4 weeks for a decision…i’ve been hearing that once people get this status they usually hear within a few hours or a day, is this true? I’m getting really anxious.

^ yep that’s true. Keep checking every hour, and if it doesn’t come out by 8 or 9 check in the morning.

ctres50 good luck!!

Thanks everyone! Still nothing yet, all I’m doing now is keeping my fingers crossed that it shows up soon!

@ctres50, just wondering, when did it say your application was finished by? mine was finished on Nov 16th…

@Bdangle it said mine was complete october 28th.

ahh well, that’s a while before mine…nice job, by the way. Are you OOS?

Thanks Bdangle! And no, I’m in state. I’m sure you’ll hear really soon! My friend who applied on December 1st also got accepted today so just keep checking!
