Uconn greater Hartford to Storrs

Hi, i just got denied to storrs and accepted to the branch, I was just wondering what is the fastest way tgo go to storrs? are there any extra cources that i can take so that i can go to storrs faster?

I believe you can transfer after 2 years.

ya lol thats what i dont like, is there a faster way? like could i take more credits in like a community college?

@uconnperson Im going to give you some advice. Last year in high school I was not accepted to Storrs however I was accepted to the Waterbury Branch. They told me if I accepted the place at waterbury I would have to wait 2 years to go to Storrs. Of course I didnt want to do this, so I went to a college in mass and stayed for 1 semester, didnt like it so i came home and im currently taking classes at a community college that are transferable to UConn. I just got my acceptance letter in the mail saying I was accepted to Storrs as a transfer for the Fall of 2014

You have a few options:

 1. You can submit an appeal. However you need to come forth with additional evidence on why they should reconsider you for Storrs. If you come foward with nothing, in other words just ask them to look one more time, chances are it wont work out

2) Go to another college for next fall, weather it be community or another college you got into. Then you can apply to Storrs during your freshman year to go in as a sophomore (Like I did)

3) You can go to Hartford for 2 years and AUTOMATICALLY go to Storrs junior year. Thats the 1 benefit about doing the 2 years, you get in no matter what (As long as your grades are fine)

One thing I can say personally about UConn Storrs is that it has become very very difficult to get in as a freshman. However from my personal experience transferring to Storrs from another college if you have a 3.0 GPA or better is a lot easier

Sorry for such a long post, I just wanted to give you all the info because I went through the same thing and it all worked out in the end.

Message me or post again if you have anymore questions!

Thanks! this really helped alot! I just have one more question, does anyone know how successful an appeal is? I will write one but just curious

@uconnperson I wrote an appeal last year and it was denied. Again I didnt really come forth with any new evidence, I wasnt aware that I needed to. The only thing I came forward with was midyear grades but I guess that wasn’t enough. There’s instructions on the UConn website on submitting appeals you can check that out.
