uconn minority friendly?

<p>i dont know if this fit in anywhere, but just to give some of you guys hope. </p>

<p>i was somewhat very suprised when two of my friends got into uconn with these stats:</p>

<p>Hispanic
Instate
3.2-3.3 gpa (few honors, no AP)
rank 70
1430/2400 SATs!!!
ok recommandations
ok ECs
poor essay</p>

<p>HOWEVER, HE GOT INTO THE SSS PROGRAM, meaning that he has to attend this 6-week summer program at storrs.</p>

<p>Does that 6 week program cost money? Hell, I hope they are still minority friendly when I apply.</p>
