3.45 unweighted GPA
24 ACT - maybe will get 26 at best on the retry
Good ECs including USFS gold medalist, a medical camp at Drexel U and volunteer on town ambulance. Class rank is not at all impressive.
I am thinking its not worth even applying – father still lives in CT, student and mother live in NJ
If you don’t apply it is honestly going to be a major mistake. First of all, your stats aren’t even that bad for UConn. A 3.45 and 26 ACT wont help you, but they also won’t hurt. The 25th percentile ACT for UConn is a 25, so if you manage to get a 26 you will be right within the acceptance range. Many students from the school that I currently attend has terrible GPAs and good ECs and they managed to get into UConn. Your ECs show interest in the field and I honestly think your overall application looks alright. The only way you guarantee no chance of admission is if you don’t try. I promise it will be worth applying because if you don’t apply you will always wonder if you would have got in.
