UConn Transfer Chances?

I sent in my transfer application a couple days ago, I was wondering if anyone could give me some feedback about my chances of being accepted?

I'm a History major at UMass Amherst right now. I applied to the UConn College of Liberal Arts and Sciences for Fall 2011.

Well written transfer essay

My First Semester GPA: 3.94
America Reads Tutor
Child Care Provider @ UMass

Went to a high school in CT.
High School GPA: 3.3
Decent Extracurriculars
Jobs all throughout high school

I am worried that due to the number of transfer applications that UConn gets that I will not be accepted-- the deadline is April, but I'm not sure how many transfer students they accept/how many got their applications in before me.

I’m also looking to possibly transfer to UConn and was told that i have an average chance at acceptance. Even though admissions is totally up to the school and anything can happen, my college stats are lower than yours. I think you have an extremely good shot!

On a separate note, I was also looking at UMass Amherst as a History major and since your there, is the reason you don’t like the school because of the history department or other reasons?

Good Luck!

I absolutely love UMass, and I would highly recommend it. I have absolutely nothing bad to say about the school! The history advisors are very helpful and nice and the classes are interesting. I would love to stay at UMass but UConn is better for me financially because I live in CT.

Thank you so much! I looked at UMass originally and really loved the school but due to other circumstances chose the school I’m at now. It’s good to here that even someone who is transferring from the school loves it!

I was accepted.
