So what would be better for MechE. Also, which honors program would be better?

I have no idea about mech. The honors programs are comparable. The only resource I can point you to is the American Society for Engineering Education. [Here’s UMass’ page](http://profiles.asee.org/profiles/4045/screen/29?school_name=University+of+Massachusetts+Amherst) for how much money they get for engineering and [here’s UConn’s](http://profiles.asee.org/profiles/3951/screen/29?school_name=University+of+Connecticut). You can read the entire reports for free. UMass gets more money for research but it gets a lot more money than UConn generally and the difference in this area isn’t that large. My guess is they’re relatively the same in approach - but I’d check the website and the ASEE reports for clues. Given the quality is going to be the similar, you should see if one fits your interests more and which school you prefer overall.

Thanks for the help

For engineering, I would advise against UConn… For some reason, UConn is not allocating money to this program like they are others… By simply walking around the Storrs campus you will notice how all the old, crappy, facilities belong to engineering… The kind of awful buildings you would see all over the place at UMass Amherst.

If debating which school has the better honors program, its clearly UConn… Not many will argue with me on this one. UConn is very well known for its honors program. UMass, not so much.

^^^^Thanks!
