UCONN Waiting List

gregj135

Can’t say if it official or not but several sites claim 3,300 offerred Waitlist last year - 1,800 accepted waitlist but only 14 enrolled from the waitlist

[University of Connecticut: Average SAT and ACT Scores, GPA Requirements and Tuition](<a href=“Welcome schoolaah.com - BlueHost.com”>Welcome schoolaah.com - BlueHost.com)

So more than half of the waitlist got accepted, and less than 1% of that enrolled? That doesn’t seem right.

my son gave up his spot in Engineering so I hope that helps someone else! He is deciding between NEU and UMass Amherst.

btw, from the common data set for fall 2009 (couldn’t find fall 2010)

Number of qualified applicants offered a place on waiting list 4,186
Number accepting a place on the waiting list 1,667
Number of wait-listed students admitted 434

so about 26% of the waitlist was accepted in 2009

Two other questions: Does UConn ask for any updated grades when they review waitlisted students at the end of May?

And if they don’t “rank” the waitlisted students in any way, does anyone know what their policy may be when they go to admit students from it?

I was placed on the waiting list for UConn (I applied to their engineering program) and I REALLY hope I get in.

We thought UCONN would be my son’s safety school, especially as we needed to see what other schools would offer in terms of $$$$ and yet he was waitlisted!
