Just wondering if anyone here applied to UConn's med program, and if they've heard back about an interview yet. I was reading some threads in the archive, and it sounds like this is one of the less prestigious schools, although their statistics on admission made it sound pretty stringent. I'm in-state, so getting into this program would pretty much set in stone my attending this university for the tuition.

I've already received my regular acceptance to the honors program with a scholarship and everything, but it made absolutely no mention of my medical app. I hope this isn't any cause to be worried, and just the result of UConn being such a huge school. Do you think it'd be worth it to call the admissions office?

Same thing, into the college with a scolarship but no mention of the accelerated medical program. I asked my GC to call and make sure that they were still considering me because I missed the deadline by a day or two, and this is what she emailed me after the phone call:

"For the accelerated medical program at UConn, they first admit you through the general undergrad admissions program. There is a committee that then reviews those accepted applicants who are interested in the medical program. That committee is reviewing applications as we speak. They will contact you with info about interviewing towards the end of February. The committee from the medical program has not made any correspondence with students yet, so you have not missed anything."

Wow, so we have to wait until late Feb. for any news? I guess that puts me more at ease. I just hope they notify us in a timely manner, so I don't have to reject other college offers while waiting on this one.

So, today I came home to this nice chunky envelope in the mailbox from UConn, and I thought "hooray, I probably got an interview!" So I opened it up...and it was just a big spiel about their honors program, with still no mention of the status of my med app! Talk about frustrating...oh well.
