yeah.. i get that a lot.

both on myspace AND in real life.

Can't believe you get no play on facebook, pinkerfloyd. That certainly confirms it: you are a loser!

:)

psh.. barely..

facebook is way too shallow, and frankly, i'm above it. for todays youth, it manicures an already ineffable self-indulgence and inflates egocentrism like Obama does our debt!

myspace, on the other hand, is the place where i feel i can truly express myself by tastefully displaying all of my many redeemable qualities through angled cellphone bathroom pics and cliche blurbs that both define my originality and give me inclusion to various subcultures from which i'd otherwise be laughed out of.
we'll see who's the real loser when i finally meet my super hot girlfriend from australia.
you just wait..
she's really hot and has OVER 500 friends on myspace!

"it manicures an already ineffable self-indulgence and inflates egocentrism like obama does our debt!"

Are these really your words or did you plagiarize? Write like a "normal" person and don't try to outdo the rest of us here. It only makes you appear haughty.

^ The only guy I knew that could spew out words like that, with such naturalness, such ease, was psychonaut Terence McKenna.

derrrr... aye spiek nurmle pso yew kin unner pstend meeh, pleb.
(fyi, + 300 frenz onn myspace)

I'm weary of people who talk eloquently because (a) they sound like a dumbass (b) they are truly intelligent and I'm intimidated by their sheer geniusness. Usually they belong in the former.

Philosophy majors use off-the-wall words and phrases because that's all we read. It's just in our literature. Sorry if econ/scientific/mathematical lingo isn't as colorful. :)

word, grey.

"I'm weary of people who talk eloquently because (a) they sound like a dumbass (b) they are truly intelligent and I'm intimidated by their sheer geniusness. Usually they belong in the former."

since what i wrote wasn't plagiarized, am i included in group b?

stop fearing things (or words) that you don't understand.

ah!@
i just figured it out!
you're trying to rag on me because i mocked your holier-than-thou, "i'm morally superior to people who have facebook" BS.
tool.

and beardy, thanks?

I don't doubt that. Philosophy is obviously abstract and not for the superficial-minded folks. I took philo in high school and hated it. I didn't know anyone who liked that class. You either understood what a dead white man was trying to say, or you didn't.

btw pinker, I'm not fearing words I don't understand. You think you're smarter than me? You sure write like a smartass, but that doesn't mean you actually are.

haha, I like that. Yeah you pretty much summed up history of philosophy.

We should have IQ duels on cc. I motion we petition a new app!

hahah, i'm into it.

freshy, "You sure write like a smartass, but that doesn't mean you actually are (one)." oh, but i assure you, i am.

the reason that i think that you fear things, or in this case, words, that you don't understand, is that you felt offended enough -- or, if not offended, discomforted -- to the point that you thought it necessary to make fun of me for using illustrative language (in a way, i'm guessing, you can't) to embellish my YOUR OWN sentiment, however sarcastically...

admit that you got P o'd because i called you out on your moral superiority crap, and this can all end quietly ;)

Hi Pinker,

I was wondering..do you have a job?

moral superiority? LMAO. far from it, dude. There's a time and place for using big words and this site is not one of them. I understand that you're a philosophy major and you want to appear "deep" and "thoughtful", but honestly, most of the time you end up sounding like a jerk and offending other members.

Get off your high horse, socrates. Don't be so quick to judge those who wish to attend UCR because that's a decent school. In the future you can write your own philosophy book and blow us away (or not).

"I used to have facebook but got rid of it because it was too shallow."

^ moral superiority.

pleb.

I prefer to keep in touch with people I really care about. with facebook and myspace (when i had it LONG time ago), I was just "collecting" people. There are pros and cons to internet social networking but I just got tired of it. Don't feed me this moral superiority horseturd, you fat cow.

Supa_Ramga,

I don’t think you have a clue what your talking about. 3.85GPA at Haas outreaches a 4.0 at UCR by light years, even with similar and identical stats
