lol yes ucsc is my backup before riverside. this is riversides thread so I didn’t want to go off topic. and I haven’t even heard anything from ucsc about financial aid yet, have you guys?

i’m worried that all the housing will be filled up everywhere and i’ll be forced to go to riverside and live at home. Do you guys think the cheaper housing will be filled up more quickly than the more expensive housing? i’m so shocked that someone was waitlisted for housing at riverside already!

@la157927 Because this is the UCR >>ADMITTANCE<< thread, not the i-Am-Attending-UCR thread.

The cheaper housing at Riverside has already been
filled which were the on campus apartments. The
dorms are guaranteed, but
they are so expensive.

I don’t understand how all of the apartments can be filled up when the fall quarter is so far away… like how?! is it like that for all UC’s???

At UCR for an on campus apartment current students get priority so transfers get last priority for apartments. I don’t know about the other UC schools. You can try to call each UC housing office and ask.

can i fill out a housing application without doing SIR?

No I think you have submit SIR to fill out a housing application.

Oh I didn’t know there was a UCR thread. Haha
I got in right at midnight. Received an email, which my BlackBerry read out loud and which woke me up.

GPA: 3.567
Major: Anthropology
Requirements: All
TAG: No
IGETC: Yes

I also haven’t got around to doing their Financial Aid forms, so I don’t have a package yet.

I have received both their cute little pop-up book and their housing booklet too.

I got into UCR!

GPA: 3.4
Major: Anthropology
Requirements: All
TAG: No
IGETC: Yes

Any bio majors get in? I’m still waiting on my admission letter. I have a 3.4, no tag, completed IGETC and all pre-reqs. Kinda nervous…

uhm, i am also attending ucr & yes it is competitive! hard as hell if you ask me, i just finished my freshman yr & it was NOT easy at all to pass my courses! i had to retake a course! (i’m in chass btw), && there’s something called the BUS to get you to where you want! you can easily walk to the university plaza & find TONS of restaurants to go eat at! there’s also moreno valley mall, galleria at tyler mall, and you could get there in the bus (which is a free ride if you slide your ucr id) i lived in the dorms last yr & the water is clean to take a shower, i personally never liked tap water so i would always drink from water bottles, the heat is bearable and so is the cold weather! however, i do have to admit that it does get pretty deserted on weekends! & regarding the safety, yes we continuously get robbery emails, i have personally never experienced anything like that! (thank God) & i have walked like at two at the morning, only my roommate & i, we have walked to and from the movies back to the dorms & never encountered anyone that looked suspicious, we were actually scared because the campus looks creeps a.f. in the night, so we eneded up walking in the middle of the road instead of in the sidewalk! lmao but anyways, you make out of UCR what you want, & i see it as a unique campus, with the beautiful background of the mountains and tall trees everywhere, for a person like me that comes from a city, it is a great experience to be at the ucr environment! (: p.s. the only weakness to ucr would def. have to be on the financial aid office, not even going to go in details -__________- but hey, i survived my freshman yr last yr! not with the at least OK g.p.a. BUT i learned TONS of lessons for this upcoming yr! goodluck to ya’ll & do not let @CheddarGoldfish kill your Enthusiasm ok!
