UCR apartments, which is cheaper?

Okay, so me and my friends are looking for cheap apartments. We just want them to be close by and affordable. We've looked into sterling, UVT, Capmus crossings, Iowa gardens, etc., which apartments would you guys recommend?? Or even just houses that we could rent a room in. HELP PLEASE. we're kinda lost...

I live in Cranford Court Apartments and I really love it there! Its quiet and no party people there so I can actually study there unlike the UVT. My roommate and I split the rent so I only pay around $500 for one room, one bathroom, water, cable, and we pay for our own gas and electricity.

The fairly good apartments near UCR are: Sterling, UV Towers, Campus Crossings, The Palms
Don’t live here: Grand Marc, Iowa Gardens, the complex next to Sterling (don’t remember the name)

Out of all these, I would suggest UV Towers. It can be pricey but that depends on the floorplan. I don’t live there but I’ve heard they have a shuttle thing to take you to and from campus. Personally, I would suggest ditching the apartment idea and going with a house. This time of the year a lot of people are looking to fill rooms for next school year. Check some of the facebook groups.
