Is the campus pretty big? nice?

when i visited, I liked how it was small, park-like actually. I mean, it’s big, but compared to the other UC’s it’s small. It was during the summer, so the heat was unbearable. I didn’t really like how it was 10 in the morning and everything was still closed, or looked empty. Maybe because it was a college town and there were no students? I’ll be visiting in two weeks, so maybe I can give you an update. :)

I went today, and it was small in the sense where everyone was kind of together like family. It’s a big campus, but compared to the other UCs, it’s moderately smaller. I liked how everything was kind of or pretty new. It gave me a sense of cleanliness. Lol. Yeah, everything didn’t open until 10-ish, I think. It was a little crowded, since I went to today’s Discover Day, but I like the warm feeling everyone who was helping out at the event gave to us incoming students. The dorms weren’t far off neither, about 5-10 minute walking distance from each other and campus.
I really liked the Bell Tower. (Who doesn’t?) haha.

pics anybody?

i visited the campus yesterday for discovery day. at first, i was really disappointed because the area outside of the campus is ghetto and everything was old/still under/never intends to be completed construction. but then when you actually enter the campus, everything significantly changes. it’s like a hidden college town in the middle of a ghetto city. the campus itself is nice, the buildings were all walking distance from each other (but that is, if you’re willing to walk cause the weather was really hot & stuffy… i kept sneezing, but i have hay fever) and apparently, yesterday was considered “cold”… as a current student there told me. the university village & other plazas are nice–> clean, variety of stores, new. there’s only one theater around though…
i lived in SD for 2 years ¬e that riverside is not the same. the shopping centers are as nice as the ones in SD, but the other areas aren’t. and the campus, well… the whole riverside is pretty flat… meaning riding your bike would be a good idea since i hear finding a parking space is a pain & buying a parking permit is expensive.
