UCR-->CCC-->Another UC

At the moment, I am a first year student at UC Riverside, and I want to transfer to another UC because UCR does not offer human biology (or anything similar) as a major. At the moment, I am considering finishing the academic year here at UCR and then going to CCC for my second year, but have a few questions about the process.

Some quick info:

  • Because of the AP credit I had, I actually should have a Letter of Reciprocity by the end of the year.

Questions

  • If a finish the letter of reciprocity this year, will it still be accepted by a UC even after going to a CCC?
  • Most of the AP scores I had were 3’s, and UCR’s AP credit policies allowed it to fulfill CNAS breadth requirements. Will these scores not be accepted by the target UC because they don’t meet their AP credit policies, or will they honor what is on my transcript?
  • Will they wind up questioning why I went from UCR to a CCC in the first place, and will that affect my chances at a successful transfer?

I’m not sure how they handle LoR when you transfer to a CCC, but 3 scores can be used to fulfill IGETC, which is the CCC version of reciprocity. You will need at least one English because IGETC requires the second English to be a special course not offered at a UC or via AP.
IGETC:
—2 English
—1 quantitative math
—3 arts and humanities (1 each, the 3rd your choice)
—3 social sciences
—1 physical and 1 life,with lab from either
—Language (which can be fulfilled with 2 years of high school language in the same subject)

Courses at the UC can also be used.
