Waitlisted for computer science
GPA 3.72 Weighted
ACT 31
Lots of ECs
Anyone going to the Orientation on the 13th ?
If you got accepted and you are not planning to go. Please decline the offer so people on the waitlist can take the spot. Thanks!
I got accepted 3 days ago, received an official email today. I’m SIR’ing soon. I’m 99% sure I’ll be attending unless UC Davis takes me off their waitlist! Here are my stats
Major: Political Science/International Affairs
UC GPA: 3.3
ACT: 20 (horrible, I know)
A lot of extracurriculars and first-generation student.
My PIQ’s were fairly good imo, my peers thought they were really great.
My S undecide where to go. But UCR 99% to decline will open one spot to waitlist.
Major. Physics
ACT 31
@bbesc1 we have the same major! We’ll probably be meeting in the fall then hahaha
@nylkoorb so glad i finally found someone with the same major hahah guess I will be meeting you!
do you guys know if appeals have a high success rate at ucr?? im so sad
@Alphelia: Appeals can work if you have new and compelling information not originally noted in your application.
High grades received in the senior year, recently acquired awards, or an increase in activities are not a basis for the reversal of a decision.
If you have something substantial to submit, then go ahead and appeal.
No data for 2016 appeals.
2015 appeal stats:
433 appeals 83 admits
Does anyone know what constitutes new and compelling information?
@Superan147:
-Health issues and changes in your living situation that may have impacted your academics
-Significant increase in your Senior year grades (B and C’s to A’s)
-Incomplete or missing information from your application
-Major (National/International awards)
Stating that UCR is your top choice is not sufficient.
You also need documentation to support your claims.
@Gumbymom so let’s say i went from a 3.2 to a 4.1 (from junior to senior year) is that new and compelling information?
@brebte123: I believe that is new and compelling information. I assume you have a reason for the upward trend? That should be included in your statement.
Hi, i have a question. I recently got an invitation to apply to the Honors program stating that the deadline is April 2 (tomorrow). However, i am not sure if i am going to go there yet. At the same time, i dont want to let this opportunity go away. So i was wondering if by accepting the offer, does it mean that i am actually accepting the admission offer or if it actually doesnt even matter???
Also, Do u guys know when Admitt Packets will Arrive?? Still havent received mine!
You can apply for the honors program without attending Riverside @once17
@@once17 I haven’t gotten mine either but I found out I got in three weeks ago so idk what riverside is doing
Oh ok. Thanks to both of you guys .
@nylkoorb: You can apply for the Honors college before you SIR until you make a final decision.
Hey guys!
There’s not a lot of ppl posting on the UCR fb group so I just wanna share the link here for everyone to see, come say hi/make friends/look for a roommate
