you can check your financial award info in R’web. Log into the site and find the financial aid icon. Click on award, then award for aid year, select 2017-2018, agree to terms and conditions, and click on award overview! UCR should have sent you an email about financial aid ((:
Thanks @kkknnn , it’s not there yet, that’s the thing. I’m wondering for others, was it there right from the get go, when you received acceptance?
@ Jesse’sgirl: My estimate financial aid was available to see on the right side of the portal before I received my acceptance. I checked on the rweb f/a tab to see if it was the same but it said that it wasn’t available yet.
Is anyone committed to UCR & needs a roommate?? :))
.
Guys
I got in UC San Diego ( no honors program) and UCR honors program
My major is biochemistry in both
And I don’t speak fluent English
Is the honors program good in UCR
I live really close to ucr about 15 minutes driving,
2 hours driving from UCSD
I didn’t visit UCR OR UCSD
I just want to know which one do you think is better for me and
Should i get in the honors program in UCR
ANY SUGGESTIONS PLEASE
please ask if you need more info
Thanks guys
Quick question: would you commute to UCR, and live on campus at UCSD? Can you afford to live on campus at UCSD? Would one mean debt, and the other not? I think those issues will play big in your decision. Are you pre-med? You have a little bit of time…can you visit the schools? Oh, finally freshman admit?
is anyone on the waist list? if so has anyone heard back?
I am on the waitlist! Still have not heard back @jahdhdndn
S is on waitlist for CS, checking daily, though probably no action until after the SIR deadline on May 1. At this point, I think I would prefer he go to CCC Honors program, knock out the math, physics, English and US History plus a few intro CS courses in smaller classes, then transfer for upper division. We’d save a ton (for grad school) and he would have parental oversight. Study habits for anything other than CS are still a work in progress.
I hear ya, @PadreDeTres . My son has good habits, but the money saving is tempting, and the smaller class sizes are appealing. But we are ready for him to go. It’s hard having a full-blown adult in the house, who still behaves in many ways like an entitled kid. Of course, I’ll be crying for weeks if/when he does go. This stuff is so hard.
is there a way to decline UCR CS offer? we have decided on another college, but couldnt find a way to decline on UCR website. Guess those on waitlist have to wait until May 1. apologize!
@tintinhope, did you explore your personal UCR portal? The alternative would be to phone the Office of Admissions and ask them for the proper procedure.
Very kind of you to make some space! Where are you headed? And good luck!
UCR is not the only colleges with no option to decline on student portal. Yes, the only way will be to send an email / call admission. Thank you for your blessing - heading to UCSC. will consider your advice to send email - just thought there is a reason why admission does not invest in a procedure to handle “decline” on website. Rather, just one May 1 process for efficiency sake - my guess only.
I SIR’d for my son yesterday – he is on UCSC waitlist – and saw a small button that said “Decline offer of admisison” or some such words at the very bottom of one of the pages on the portal, so perhaps check again
I screwed up - feel v stupid! Instead of finding that little decline button, I accidentally hit SIR Submit. Will have to call Admissions Office on Monday… hope my son will not be mad
no i am waiting as well @selfconfidentgal
Is anybody going to UCR? Lol I need someone to talk to since I’m first-generation college student and nobody in my family has any idea what’s going on, so they can’t help me. :-S
My son is going, but he is not reading this site, I am. What do you need help with?
What would be the best housing options for low-income students? Also, I need to sign up for the Writing and Math exams, and I can’t find where to do that…
Thanks for responding, any help is really appreciated!
