@confusedcommoner You can’t change your major into Neuroscience because it’s a capped major. You would have to take the prerequisites in your first two years at UCR before you can apply for a change of major. Even then you would have to be accepted so there’s no guarantee.

also was it a bad move for me to request a major change from Creative Writing to Undeclared under CHASS? idk why i did that haha…
@xxkookiexx No, it’s not a bad move at all. If you don’t know what you want to do then sure undeclared can help you determine a good major. The only “downside” to being undeclared is that for example, you want to go to a bio major, but the declared students already have picked first the good classes, so you’re left with the “boring” ones. Not sure if that’s how it’s supposed to work, but just a theory. I think if you can register your class ASAP then you should be all good. Or worse case scenario, the bio major is full.
i still havent heard back yet should i be worried?
@lolclassof2022 are you a transfer student?

Anyone know if I have a chance to get off the waitlist? Or can I try to appeal?
@Sgtdookie: Your chances off the waitlist are dependent upon the # of spots that are open after the May 1 SIR date. Since CS is impacted and highly competitive at all the UC’s, you might get admitted under your alternate or Undeclared.
You can appeal while on the waitlist, but you need new and compelling information not addressed on your original application. Good grades, awards etc… are not considered a good reason to appeal.

Thank you for a quick reply @Gumbymom, I just have one more question. My dad and two brothers all went to UCR so will I be able to write that in an appeal and tell them that UCR is my top choice?
