Hey everyone, I'm looking at going to UCR for Political Science, but I would also like to dual major in Music. Is UCR's music program good? I know that there are better music schools out there, but my situation makes it impossible to really go anywhere else. Will I get a quality music education by going to UCR?

It might help if you spell out what school UCR stands for… I’m not familiar with it.

What sort of music education are you looking for? Theory/history/analysis and composition? Or performance? I assume that UCR is UC Riverside? I do know they have some interesting faculty there in the music department.

Sorry for not clarifying what UCR is; it is University of California Riverside. I would like to do vocal and piano performance. I wish to develop my 1st tenor voice and my piano skills.

UCR is not known as one of the UC’s usually chosen for music. But that doesn’t mean it might not work for you. Have you investigated their faculty/adjunct faculty or the requirements to take lessons?
