UCR Honors Question

I’m just wondering how hard it is to get into the honors program?

I got the application and am currently in the process of filling it out. I have a question too.

On the second prompt, where it asks you to give a challenging experience in life which you have overcome, to make you the person you are today, it gives you a 200-300 word limit. But on the first prompt, it asks “Please share with us your involvement in extracurricular activities being sure to highlight community service, research and leadership endeavors.” How long does this part have to be, because there is no word limit. Should you explain in detail what we have done in essay format, or just make a list? Sorry I’m a bit confused.
And also, what does being in the honors program do (assuming I get accepted). I know there are special privileges within the school, but does it make it easier to get a job or internship?

Any info would be appreciate thanks!

I don’t think the application process is that hard…well, I mean getting accepted

Considering that the dropout rate for the Honors program is godly high, it probably means that too many people are accepted anyways

I remember hearing that the people who manage the program will let you in as long as you show some degree of interest and commitment towards doing well
