UCR Hopes

I'm hanging on a thread of hope of getting into UCR's Business Administration program with abysmal grades. This is my fourth year at PCC and my GPA as it stands is a 2.36 but I can pull that up to a 3.0 by the end of Winter Intersession but they probably would have rejected me after seeing the 2.36. By the end of Spring, I should be able to pull off a 3.18 GPA with 53 units, and higher after I complete my 7 units after Summer (On the UC website, it says that UCR will allow you to take courses up till enrollment). Problem is I won't be able to complete my Math pre reqs for business major, I'll only be up to Pre-Calc and Calculus is the minimum. What are my hopes? Should I have even bothered to apply? I really can't stay another year at PCC, I already feel like a loser with all my friends I went to High School with graduating this year.

Honestly, I’m not sure how important the pre-reqs are for the business major. They might not even matter…look that up for sure. If you can get that GPA above a 2.8 by the Fall update though, then you should have a great shot.

From what I’ve heard around, the UCs don’t start evaluating applications until they see our Fall 09 grades when we report them in January.

So I wouldn’t lose hope just yet. Get the best grades possible this fall–best wishes.

I’m sure you’re fine, my brother transferred from CSUN to UCR with a 2.8.
