I went on the UCR Growl page to view my award status and they said it was incomplete: “You have reported on your FAFSA that you will be working on a master’s or doctorate degree. However, according to UCR’s records, you will be enrolled as an undergraduate student. Before further action can be taken on your financial aid application, you need to change your response to this question on your FAFSA and correct your grade level. In addition, you must report parental data on your FAFSA and have your parents sign it before your financial aid eligibility can be computed. Please go to www.fafsa.ed.gov to correct your grade level and report parental data on your FAFSA.”
My parents filles out my FAFSA so I fixed the the whole degree issue but im not exactly sure if thats what they actually wanted me to correct? My grade level is correct and im pretty sure all my parental data has been filled in, can anyone help me on what exactly they are talking about?
Did one of your parents get a FSA ID and sign your FAFSA? It sounds like they are missing a signature (which is pushing a button, not an actual signature)
You received an auto-response … the computer had no way of knowing that you had provided parent info. When you selected Masters degree, you were able to complete the FAFSA without parent info or parent signature. Even though you provided the parent info, you were not required to provide a parent signature (grad students do not need parent info for FAFSA).
What you need to do now is make sure Questions #29 and #30 are correct (if you are just starting college, #29 will be Never attended college and 1st year undergraduate; #30 will be 1st bachelor’s degree). Make sure also that Question #48 is No … I think you probably indicated yes, which is what prompted the issue. Make sure all necessary parent info has been provided, then have your parent add his/her “signature.”
Don’t forget to submit … you have no idea how many people forget that step!
I got it now! Thank you guys so much!
