UCR rescind

Hi guys
So Im currently failing AP stats right now with an F (no D policy at my school) and itll be hard for me to pass the class by my graduation date. Its also my first F ever in high school. And i already met my a-g requirements. I emailed the counselors and they said that it will be rescinded. But i have seen the same format of the email to other students as well. I also heard that last year UCR accepted students with at least one D. Is there a chance for me to get rescinded? :frowning:

UC GPA: 3.6
SAT: 1240

There is a large chance you will get rescinded since the uc rescind policy is that you have to maintain at least a 3.0 weighted GPA with no D’s or F’s. Of course there is a small chance that you won’t get rescinded. Good luck!

I would suggest emailing your counselor! One of my really, really stupid acquaintances is failing her calculus class ata community college (ikr) with a 29%! She is not getting rescinded, unless her arrest warrant goes through, of course. But thats a different story!

  1. Just because you have already fulfilled your a-g course requirements, does not exempt you from passing the rest of your a-g courses with a C or higher.
  2. Applicants that have been admitted with D or F's on their transcripts, may have repeated the course or validated the course by passing with a C or higher 2nd semester or taken a higher level course and passed with a C or higher.
  3. If you SIR and enroll at UCR or any other UC, you have accepted the provisional admission contract which states you need to maintain a 3.0 unweighted (except UCLA/UCB) with no D's or F's Senior year.

Rescinding your admission may be an idle thread, but I would take this seriously and see what can be done to get your grade up to a passing level or at least offer to retake the course during the summer prior to starting in the Fall quarter.

FYI: A friend and her son attended UCR Freshman orientation last year and the parents were told that about 1/3 of the Freshman class can expect to be on academic probation by 2nd quarter. Maybe UCR is already trying to weed out Freshman that are going to have difficulty in their first few quarters by seeing how they are keeping up with their grades during Senior year. Just a thought…

How do i appeal after getting rescinded?
