I was accepted into UCR's Fall 2010 quarter after graduating community college under the Transfer Admission Guarantee form and I know UCSB has the same thing. I was wondering if there was anyway to transfer to UCSB instead. It says I have to write a letter of appeal and I was wondering if anyone has done this and what my chances are of being able to switch into UCSB's fall or winter quarter. I feel like I rushed into UCR without looking at other schools and I fell in love with UCSB and I am also a Psychology major and I looked and was more impressed with the program at UCSB. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

UCs give priority to CC transfers over transfers from other UCs. Apparently the only thing more difficult than transferring from one UC to another UC is transferring from a CSU to a UC.

So since I’m coming from a cc I have a better chance?

well if you dont go to ucr next semester, and instead go to your CC again, then yes you could reapply and re-have priority to transfer to ucsb
