Totally false. Look anywhere at discussions of MBA admissions, look at books about MBA admissions, look at MBA college websites. They want smart people with a drive for achievement that have already shown they are on a fast track in business.
Elite undergrad schools tend to be over-represented because look what it takes to get in. You need to be smart, great recs, stellar ECs to get into a top-20 undergrad college. Is it any surprise that those kids go on to seek out the type of jobs after college that make them attractive to MBA schools at a much higher rate than kids that got into a UC with just grades and scores, not showing much initiative before college or after?

To respond, not totally false. I wish it wasn’t true but the reality is different… of course there are always outliers and there are people from unheard of universities that get into Harvard or Stanford. But those people tend the be exceptional in other areas. Work experience, ect… However ALL THINGS BEING EQUAL, the institution of undergrad education does play a role directly and also I directly, Those hot jobs that prepare you for MBA are easier to obtain at elite Universities…

TAP is a predecessor of TAG, since it was shown that most students that were TAP certified were very prepared to UC’s. Some of the low tier UC’s started to accept most of the people were TAP certified (almost 100 percent). So few of the UC decided to make official and guarantee admissions and TAG was born… However UCLA and Berkeley refused to be part of TAG (prestige??) and UCSD is transitioning out of TAG as well. However students that are part of TAP have a higher acceptance rate than those who are not.

I wish UCLA and Berkeley has a TAG program, it would really take a lot of the guesswork of admission process.

1) you sign an agreement with a community college, upon completion you get certified similar to IGETC

2) it depends… If you take a lot of units yes it’s hard… I’m a little bias but I think that the math and sciences ( including engineering) are more difficult than the humanities.
