I’m still not sure if I’ll SIR since I’m still waiting for other UC responses but does anyone know 1) how long it usually takes to see financial aid information 2) when the admission packets arrive in the mail?
I’m glad this ordeal is over (at least for some of us) and I’ll keep my fingers crossed for anyone still pending!!
@silvermansachs I got admitted with 57 units! I didn’t even know it was possible to get in with lower than 60. In your acceptance does it say your a sophomore admit or anything? Congrats! I’m very excited for both of us!

@LynAmmo honestly don’t waste your time. some schools send an email, I know Berkeley says there’s been an update in your portal. I only check once a day, around midday, 1 pm. it’s exhausting to check more than once and I felt like I would only give myself anxiety. Good luck!!

@filmfiend91 I heard UCR has a good film program, but I’m not all too familiar with it because a majority of the classes I took in my CC are art courses (I wanted to do animation at CSUF that’s why, but got rejected from there last year) and this semester I’m taking my first film class in the RFTV department at my school. Not sure about CSUF and SDSU on their programs. I heard SDSU is a pretty good school too and CSUF, well, I don’t have much to say about that school lol.
I should have put Studio Art as my intended major instead because of the art classes I took at my CC, but I also wanted to do something with film, but it is what it is and I’m just happy I got into UCR. I want to be able to go for a Masters program in the future so I’m still debating where to go. I live local to UCR like a 10-15 min drive away. But I’m kinda leaning towards UC Irvine at the moment.
I think what matters is to see which school’s program best suites you, figure out and plan what you want to do after you graduate, and if you can see yourself as a student at one of these schools, so go on some campus tours if you have the time UCR is a really great school, lots of clubs to join (i think there’s a film club there that will help out with your portfolio). I went on a campus tour there last month and just last week I went on a tour at UCI.
If I do choose UCR, hopefully I see you there in the program! It would be awesome to know at least one person there.
