Ucr transfer help!

So i applied to UCR as a transfer with a 3.0gpa. What are my chances of getting in? My major is business; alt is computer engineering. Thanks

Do you have your major pre-reqs completed? IGETC? TAG? Need more information then just 3.0 and major.

IGETC will be done by spring 2012. And I’ve completed most of my pre-req classes.

IGETC will definitely help you. By Business I’m assuming you mean Business Administration, and not Informatics or Bus/Econ? If you are going for BA do you have the following (taken from assist.org):

To meet transfer selection criteria for the Business Administration major:

1) Complete community college courses equivalent to the following seven lower
division UCR Business Administration major requirements: Bus 10; Bus 20; Econ
2; Econ 3; CS 8; Math 22 or 9A; Stat 48.

2) Attain a minimum GPA of 2.50 in the seven major preparation courses listed
above, and also in your overall UC transferable GPA.

3) Complete IGETC or the UCR breadth pattern for the College of Humanities,
Arts and Social Sciences (IGETC is recommended).

Obviously you have 2 and 3, but you can check on Assist.org (select your CC and UCR then BA) if you have the classes required. If you do have those done, then I think you have a decent chance.

Also,

[Undergraduate Business Program: Common Questions from Undergraduates](<a href=“Undergraduate | School of Business”>Undergraduate | School of Business)

Q: How can I guarantee my admission into the Business Administration major as a transfer student?
A: If you are admissible to UCR, have completed your general education requirements with an Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC), and completed seven out of the 10 major prerequisite/lower division courses for business, you can be admitted into Business Administration. If you are admissible to UCR, have not completed your general education requirements with an IGETC, or have not completed seven out of the ten major prerequisite/lower division courses for business, you can be admitted into Business Preparatory until you qualify to major change to Business Administration. Transfer students entering Fall 2007 must have a 2.5 GPA to enter the undergraduate business major.

If you already knew all of this then please excuse my regurgitation.

Thanks for the information!
