I applied to UCLA (my dream school) and got rejected. I WAS admitted to UCI and UCR, on the other hand. I still want to go to UCLA but I'm really confused about where I should go right now.

I want to transfer and I know that community college is the best way to do that. However, after all the work I put into high school, I really can't imagine going there. Plus, I don't think my parents would allow me to go to community college. That's kind of elitist, I know. But my community college doesn't accept AP credits. And I have a lot of those. I don't want them to go to waste after all the work I put in.

I know transferring from UC to UC is competitive. But if I work hard, what are my chances of transferring from UCI to UCLA...or UCR to UCLA in 2 years?

I’m sorry for not really answering your question, but I think you should just stay at UCI. UCI is really beautiful in my opinion. LOL I think that’s a good enough reason.

you sound like an elite student. i say go to ucr, let them gaze and be amazed at your academics, and then transfer to ucla. youll get into la just fine

“But my community college doesn’t accept AP credits. And I have a lot of those.”

Is there one that you can drive to that does? Because if so you’ll only have to do one year of community college most likely.

Also, ask yourself if you’d be much more happy at SD, Davis, or SB than Irvine or Riverside. Because you have a good chance at landing at one of those first 3, especially if you plan on majoring in a competitive field (comm, bio, biz econ, and others)

UC Irvine over UC Riverside any day, and UCI is a pretty cool place. It’s too… clean… almost sterile, for my personal taste, but great school, close to the beach. And the Anteaters? C’mon, who can’t help but love that? :)

It depends on your major. If your prospective major wont be competitive at UCLA, your shots are almost guaranteed if you attend community college.
