i have been accepted by UCR and SJ State. Can anyone tell me or give me some suggestions about which one is better? Money is not really an issue for me and I tend to major in chemical engineering or other engineering science related majors. Please provide me some suggestions.

We shouldn’t care one bit about the US News Week rankings. They rank based on selectivity. It is so unfortunate that in almost every young person’s mind, selectivity varies directly with “prestige,” and the only way then to measure a school’s worthiness is to look at its rating on that list. How unnecessarily embarrassing, if you ask me.

Honestly, it depends on your major. I live in San Jose and SJSU is NOT ghetto at all. I don’t know what you guys are talking about. I know that SJSU has a great engineering program, but I don’t know if it includes chemical engineering. I would do some research on both UCR and SJSU’s chemical engineering programs before you decide :D

how is the overall freshman living(dorms and food, ect)? how are the campus accomadations like their rec center(mainly gym and basketball court)? how is the overall freshman exp? thnks in advance

^ i know that sjsu is really fun… the one weekend i was there there was all sorts of activities on campus including a bunch of competitions and a big water slide in between the towers

housing at UCR seems pretty nice and the UCR rec center is expanding and it looked pretty NICE when I visited UCR. They got everything that students need. (basketball court, raquetball court, volleyball court, weights, etc.) By 2014, I think UCR rec center will be the biggest rec center among the UC schools.
