UCR VS CSULB (Mechanical engineering and Computer Science)

I know this post here would be biased as I am posting in the UCR page but I want to compare between CSULB and UCR for Mechanical and computer science as I may switch later. I am looking for quality of education as well as possibility to get a research opportunity with a professor (first and second year) and lastly jobs after I graduate. Does anyone have an unbiased opinion between the colleges?

I am also posting the same thing on CSULB page

UCR. Way more research opportunities there as it it is a research based school. Moreover it is part of the prestigious University of California system.

If both schools are ABET accredited for ME, then the academic programs will be similar. If you are into research, then UCR could be the better option but for job opportunities/internships, both are well respected by employers in the area. The name on your degree rarely gets you a job, it is the job skill set you possess that most employers will look for so make use of the career centers at either school and get internships outside academia.

You cannot go wrong with either choice so consider all aspects of the college experience: academics, social scene and finances to figure out your best fit.
