Does UCR have a better chemistry program than University of the Pacific?

<p>My son is having a difficult time deciding between these two, so I am hoping I can get some answers regarding the academic quality of both. On on hand, he really liked the general atmosphere of UCR and many of his friends will also be attending. However, his girlfriend is attending school in San Francisco in the fall, so UOP will be closer. UOP is also closer to home (about 30 min), although that is not as big of an issue.</p>
<p>i dont know anything about UOP but for chemistry, UCR is a fine choice. UCR chemistry department is one of the leading chemistry department worldwide.</p>
